We're still on a high from last two shows with Emma Donovan in the US.

Thursday's sold out show at The Myrna Loy in Helena MT, followed by last night's gig at The Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis were both amazing experiences.

Next stop Portland!!

(It's not often I'm sitting in a cafe in Minneapolis watching folks deal with the snow on the sidewalk, and The Tesky Brothers come on the radio!).

Last December, our friend of 20+ years, Mick Meagher, stepped down as bassist of The Putbacks. We'd like to take a moment to acknowledge the huge contribution he's made to the band and to share the news of our incoming bass player, Henry Jenkins.

Firstly, Mick's heavy-weight and highly melodic bass playing has been a feature of The Putbacks since inception. Over the 20+ years of working together, we developed a musical brotherhood, a language of rhythm and harmony, of melody and pocket, that was all our own. But nothing can last forever.

During that time, we have released 5x 45s, an Instrumental Album and 3x full length Albums with the incredible Emma Donovan. We're so proud of what we've created together.

We supported Booker T, Charles Bradley, The Menehan Street Band, Hiatus Kaiyote, The Tesky Brothers, Paul Kelly, The Bamboos and Mavis Staples (oh yeah, and that one time we nearly supported Prince at the HiFi bar!).

We toured Australia multiple times and played a heap of festivals together. There were so many great times, great hangs, so much laughter, so many hotels, rehearsals, recording sessions and so so many early flights.

Thank you Mick, you were such an inspiration to create music with. We'll miss sharing the stage with you. We wish you all the best with whatever is next in your musical journey.

With that said, we look forward to the next chapter and are thrilled to welcome Henry Jenkins to the group.

We've all been huge fans of Henry for years now. His bass playing and production work with the Cactus Channel, Karate Boogaloo, Surprise Chef and Moju is legendary. Henry was an integral part of our latest album with Emma D "Under These Streets". We can't wait to get in the studio and see what happens.
