Jeff Bingham Passes Away at 77 Posted: May 21, 2024 11:41 pm ET | Last Updated: May 21, 2024 11:48 pm ET | Jeff Bingham, a former Senate staffer and NASA official who had signficant influence on U.S. human spaceflight programs and policy, died on May 16, 2024 from throat cancer.

NASA's Wallops Flight Facility Sounding Rockets Office prepares three Terrier/Black Brant vehicles to transport the Atmospheric Perturbations around Eclipse Path (APEP) payloads on Monday April 8th. The first to launch about 35 minutes before the local peak eclipse, peak and the last 35 minutes after peak to measure ionospheric phenomena associated with the eclipse.

Rocket Lab mission "Live and let Fly" exits Virginia Spaceport Authority launch pad 0C successfully carrying a payload for the National Reconnaissance office into orbit early this morning.

Our Wallops Range will support Rocket Lab's Electron launch for the National Reconnaissance Office no earlier than March 21 at 2:40 a.m. ET. Currently, weather is 80% favorable for launch; a slight chance of high ground winds is the only concern.

The Wallops Visitor Center will not be open for launch viewing. A livestream will be hosted on Rocket Lab’s YouTube channel. The launch may be visible along the East Coast, weather permitting.

Not all photographic endeavors are successful. All of my planning to capture the International Space Station transiting the moon tonight came to naught due to timing issues.
