In his words, "he's no chef but he just loves cooking with what he grows". he'll be cooking up some exciting things in our test kitchen this year, if you would like your product tested and cooked by Saba let us know! We are taking applications until mid March.

Testing, testing, testing....

The Big Meet 2023 will be all about testing the newest, most interesting food out there - with all of our senses. To our help, we have selected the best chefs to help us prepare and create samples and interesting twists on these products - and see if they really can pass the taste test!

Gustav Johansson is our dear friend that will help us in the kitchen! From his great passion of contributing to a more sustainable planet, trough food, he is also an expert on cooking with alternative proteins and knows all the new nerdy products out there.

The Big Meet is always about indulging in the most interesting food and tech out there. And while this year we will have a great focus on our Test kitchen, where we will cook and taste new products and ideas, we will also complement it with interesting discussions and insights from innovators and experts.

Most of all (besides tasting all the Good Food) Big Meet is about discussing the future of said food and how we can achieve a more sustainable food system. The Strategy Stage focused on new tech, system-thinking and business models including topics such as Responsive Nutrition, Food in the Metaverse, Chefs and Farmers are the new holy duo and What does air taste like? We even hosted a world launch of a new Nanoponics system!

Not only did we have a great stage program this year at the Big Meet, we also launched our idea for a test kitchen!

Sprung from our long collaboration with chefs all over the world we wanted to see if it would make a difference to put them together with a bunch of traditional, amazing and new products and see what would come out of it. And we think we can all agree that it was a success! We want to extend a BIG thank you to all the chefs that put up with this crazy idea, all the creators of products that came and tested with us, and all of our partners that supplied us with amazing produce, and to all of you visitors that tasted! Next year the sky is the limit, or is it?

WOW! What incredible days we’ve had here in Stockholm! 💥

Big thank you to all our visitors, speakers, exhibitors, partners, chefs and friends from all over the world that joined us for this year's Big Meet! We’re overwhelmed with new insights, products and solutions for our future food system.

The team at Sweden Foodtech are taking a short break but will soon be back with great material from these past few days.

1/3 of all produced food is thrown away. That’s pretty stupid. The Food Waste Challenge is an idea competition, accelerating ideas that battle food waste. Apply with your idea, and have a chance to win 50.000 SEK, mentors, and exposure.
Applications close 20th of May. And the winner will be announced at Big Meet!

It is time to introduce the second round of amazing chefs that are joining us in the test kitchen at Big Meet! 🍴🍅🥦

Gustav Johansson: runs Sweden's largest vegan food site Jävligt Gott, is the culinary leader and co-owner of the plant-based restaurant ChouChou and CEO of the sustainable education company Eat Green Academy. He is passionate about making plant-based food simple and good so that it becomes easier to do the right thing.

Yair Yosefi: has spearheaded international collaborations bringing Mediterranean food culture and raw materials to high-end outlets in Japan and the USA. He consults widely on issues of product development and culinary R&D for food service business and industrial plants.

Frida Nilsson: previously responsible for the openings of Malmö Live, participated in and won Olympic and WC silver with Skåne Kulinar, competed in Kockarnas Kamp and received the Malmö Akvavits Scholarship 2018. Today she works as Concept & Quality development Head Chef at ESS Group.

Martin Berg: describes himself as ‘on a mission’. One of the early proponents of the New Nordic food movement, Martin has a rich background in sustainable and sensitive cooking, as the executive chef at Michelin-star restaurants and the co-founder of a traditional sourdough rye bakery and organic café in Stockholm.

This years Big Meet will have a TEST-KITCHEN running both days, all day! This is for you to be able to combine all the interesting talks and presentations with actually getting to try some of the fascinating foods and drinks, while interacting with creators and innovators.

We have invited some of the world's most talented and inspiring chefs to do their magic in our test-kitchen, together with some real good quality produce within our community. Just look at this line-up!

Tanya Holland, Brown Sugar Kitchen: Acclaimed for her inventive take on modern soul food, as well as comfort classics, she is leading California into the future of food through impactful projects, podcasts and a cooking show.

Brandon Jew, Mister Jiu’s: an award-winning contemporary
Chinese American restaurant in the heart of San Francisco Chinatown. Brandon Jew combines the local, seasonal and organic bounty of the Bay Area together with classic Chinese techniques and flavors. His honors include one Michelin star, Best Chef California 2022 and more!

Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski are the Chefs and Owners of State Bird Provisions, The Progress, and The Anchovy Bar in San Francisco.
