here we come!
Loving AVID!
I love the start of the school year! Today we did one of my favorite activities. We investigated density. We demonstrated that Alka-Seltzer tablets are more dense than water because they sink however, once they release the gas, the gas is less dense than the water and the oil so it rises. Yay mini lava lamps!
So this is what was voted for me to decorate my door! Soooo, time to pull out my cricut and get to work! Hopefully this will be done by Wednesday.
Looking through pictures of last school year I found this! I almost forgot about the rainbow halo we got to see at recess.
My classroom is getting closer to done everyday! Meet the teacher is next Wednesday and student start back on Thursday!
Starting to prep back to school surprises for my team!
It’s that time of year again! I’m officially headed back to school! Here is my amazon wish list incase you would like to contribute to my 4th grade math and science classroom! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/17YI4Q7CUICNH?ref_=wl_share
Just a peaceful evening writing some IEP assessments.
I won’t lie. My math block is the same routine pretty much every day. However, every once and awhile we will break out of that routine and do something fun. When we were working on multiplying fractions by whole numbers we practice with a baking classroom transformation! I’ve never seen my class so excited to solve over 70 problems in under an hour.
We all have days where teaching is hard. It can be exhausting. However, tonight as I went through a stack of papers from years ago I found this note. However, after reading this I can’t help but feel amazing. I feel refreshed and honestly a little teary eyed. I know I’m making a difference.
Here we go!
Not a ton has been done but day 1 of putting my new room together is complete.
I know it’s still summer but I can’t help but think about my old classroom. Out of the 4 classrooms I’ve been in, my last one has been my absolute favorite. Now to start planning for next years room!
Renaming numbers is one of my favorite things to teach! Using base ten blocks make it concrete for them makes it a breeze. Once the get the basics down we move onto larger numbers.
Missing them already and we are only a week into summer. 💙☀️
With summer here I can’t help but remember last years . It was amazing! I wish I was going this year but life happens. I sooooo look forward to going in the future though.
There are few things as a teacher that make me as excited as when I can see my students engaged and eager to show me what they know.
This is exactly what I needed this morning. All within the first 20 minutes of school I picked up my FSA tests, made sure everyone ate breakfast and had a snack for later, calmed down 2 students that were crying, got puke on my shoes, calmed down a room full of children freaking out over puke, and started the FSA. This breakfast may not seem like much but on crazy mornings like today it is very needed.
Days like today I truly miss being I. The classroom. Don’t get me wrong I love being home with my newborn however, looking through pictures on my phone I can’t help but miss my students.
Had an awesome day two at GYTO. I also got to meet during my last session of the day. I’m already feeling more inspired for this upcoming school year! I can’t wait for tomorrow!
