It's that Dundee Red clay again.
This time with a coat of white slip inside and hand-painted "mandalas" in Royal Blue underglaze.
The glaze is translucent, with spodumene and tin.

Good old mug shot Monday, just pics, no big production. 😁
These mugs are my favorite from the last week's glaze kiln.
A few words about the process:
I drew the "leafy curtain" on paper, then scanned it, printed on a transparency, and used it to make a silk screen from an emulsion sheet sold by . I can reuse the screen many times!
Then I "screen-printed" the design onto the wheel-thrown mug with the help of a gelli plate sold by using Velvet black underglaze from

It's raining outside but I have a sunny mug for you on
Pinched wares have irresistible charm, at least in my tiny studio. I start with a thick slab and then the possibilities are endless.
The shape I got this time is unusual for me but it turned out very suitable for hand-painted macro-ish flower petals. Was aiming for sunflowers🌻, for . 🇺🇦
Paper-thin lightweight cups (I have two), and I'm inspired to make more!
