Panadinho was found in Montemor with a serious injury to his front leg, likely caught on a snare trap. His leg could not be saved, but Panadinho adapted to his new 3 leg- life with no problem, as you can see in the video of Panadinho and Mariana. He is the sweetest boy, just 2 years old. This boy just run 100 yards in 7.5s during the American Kennel Club FCAT trials! And you know what? His name is Bolt!

One year ago Bolt and his mom, Flor, were running for their lives from who wanted to shoot them. They recovered with volunteers at Montemor pound and travelled to Senior Sighthound Sanctuary in the US last February.
Bolt is learning agility with Trish, his mom, and he is Super Fast! 😍

All airlines and certified ground animals transporters in Portugal must follow International Guidelines. Animals must have the freedom to stand, sit, turn around, and lie down comfortably. These rules are strictly followed. Let's see a parallel reality. These are hunting podengos in the north of Portugal. You can see them on the road in temperatures above 100F in their metallic cages. But, after all, these are just podengos, so many around, one more one less, who cares! Welcome to a parallel reality.

Pluma was found starving on a rural area near Marco de Canaveses. She recovered in a foster home and learnt how to wear a fluffy bow tie like a pro. Pluma is 3 years old and available for adoption.

Betty is solving a top notch logic puzzle. She survived a long time by herself on a rural area before being caught and brought to safety. No one fed her or gave her a place to sleep. No success in poisoning or shooting her either. She was elusive and could hunt. Many podengos are only caught when they want, they decide who to trust and when. But most of them are so starved and weak that they are susceptible to the cowardice of who wants to get rid of them with guns, beatings and poisoned food.
Betty solves logic puzzles the same way she solved her survival puzzle. Her weapons are her brain, her cleverness and her physical ability.

Sininho was with her 1 month old puppies in a rural area when someone shot her at least 3 times. She managed to protect her babies that were not hurt. The bullets went through and fortunately didn't impact vital organs. Sininho escaped and recovered. Sonia Veloso and Luisa Veloso found her on time and took the best care of Sininho and babies. It is impossible to be sweeter and more affectionate than Sininho, that is very clear from the video. She goes along with all dogs and cats. An English Pointer (Malu) and a Portuguese Pointer (Pisca). Pisca was dumped in the pound in S. Miguel. Azores, with tumors, after being used for breeding all her life. The hunter that had her doesn't even imagine there are statues of dogs exactly like Pisca in 12th century tombs in one of the oldest churches in Lisbon. But he certainly knew how to beat her. Malu was abandoned with babies and is waiting for a family.

Podengos can ride convertibles and dance (Messi), sail (Tareca), have a street with their name (Bobby) and be good at agility (Bolt). They can also proudly transport their favorite pillow around (Diva), help on your daily shopping (Papu), take over your bed while keeping a good pose (Lupin), and so much more. As expected, they are also very good at chasing squirrels and bunnies.

Help them get out of the miserable lives of shacks, chains and starvation.

International Dog Day

Malu is an English Pointer, 3 years old. Appeared abandoned with babies that were meanwhile adopted. She has those irresistible Pointer eyes. The remains of hunting season keep emerging everyday.

Niko was in the pound in S. Miguel, Azores. He is 4 years old and with no particular or distinct features. If you look at his pictures, everything worked against him being noticed. He is not small, not furry, not part of the super cute club. If we talk about the club of invisibles, Niko is there on the front row for sure. But, when we see a small video of Niko in the pound, in his kennel, there is something that sticks immediately to your mind - his sweetness. Niko's kennel companions are still there. They are medium size dogs, invisible in static pics but sweetness in motion.
Niko is in Lisbon, melting hearts ❤.

We need to transport a couple of crates (disassembled) from Lisbon to Ponta Delgada, S. Miguel, Azores. There will be a person at the airport in Lisbon. No costs involved. These crates will be transporting dogs back to Lisbon to a new life. Thank you!

Oreo, 1 year old. He is a bit shy but super sweet. Oreo was chained with his brother in a backyard. They were in a miserable situation. Oreo survived but his brother didn't make it. He is small, 7Kg (15lbs).
