6 Days to go for Naam Abhyaas Camp…. Sharing some useful tips with you all to prepare better for this camp.

1. KEEP YOUR AMRITVELA

This is the hardest one of the lot, most people struggle waking up and having a conversation with Guru Ji through their Simran and Nitnem. It is important to remember that time dedicated between you and Guru Ji is extremely important for you to continue your relationship with Guru Ji.

Make a small change of waking up 15 minutes early and try to improve that every day by waking up 5 minutes earlier. These small steps will lead to great fulfilment.

2. DO AS MUCH SEVA AS POSSIBLE

Seva isn't restricted to the Gurdwara, the main purpose is that you are doing it for someone else, without expectations of praise or wealth. Helping your parents, joining charities such as Sikh Relief, feeding the homeless, raising money for charities, washing dishes at the Gurdwara, these are just some types of Seva. Also, if you are struggling to figure out what Seva you want to do, you can always ask us and we will find a Seva
opportunity at the camp.

3. JOIN THE SADH SANGAT

Very important that you put as much time as you can sitting in Sadh Sangat, people who are on Guru Ji's path and will help you in your journey of Sikhi. It's obvious to say you need to get rid of bad' Sangat, but you must remember to remain humble and surround yourself with those on the same mission as you. Never think you are better than others, the Sadh Sangat will never let you think this way.

4. LEARN GURBANI AND DO SEHAJ PAATHS

Yes, it may seem like a very daunting task, but you have many resources available to you, even on your mobile phones, which can help you. Even if you can't read Gurbani, you can start listening to Paath via various apps and read the meanings and complete a Sehaj Paath. Remember that this is your journey and your relationship with Guru Ji. If you want the rewards then you will have to put the work in to develop that relationship with VaheGuru.

5. J*P NAAM

Sound easy right? Well it is, if you want to do it. By following the above, Japping Naam becomes an
unexplainable experience only those who taste it know about. Listen to Katha, read Sikhi orientated books, listen & learn Keertan and just increase your Naam Simran.

6. TOP-UP YOUR SIKHI

Keep topping up your Sikhi knowledge and keeping your knowledge fresh. Avoid just floating in Sikhi. Stagnant water becomes diseased and leads to sickness. Fresh water brings life and energy. Similarly, if we become stagnant with Sikhi and not keeping busy then things can easily slip, however if you keep topping up on Sangat, knowledge etc you will feel the buzz.

The best way to learn about Sikhi is getting involved, doing Seva and teaching children younger than yourself about Sikhi. Everyday look in the mirror and remind yourself that your father is Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and your mother is Mata Sahib Kaur. One day you will be reunited and you'll be asked how you carried forward Guru Nanak Sahib Ji's mission - then think about what your answer will be.
