A stroll through the garden: GardenWalk 2024 in photos The work of hundreds of Cleveland gardeners was on full display throughout the city last weekend during GardenWalk Cleveland. Bob Perkoski took a stroll through many of them and captured some of the beauty of the gardens and Cleveland neighborhoods.

Thank you to all the gardeners, visitors, and volunteers who made GardenWalk 2024 a success. We hope that you all enjoyed the beautiful (but hot) weather, saw lots of beautiful plants, and got to make a new friend. Cleveland is a wonderful place because of you. Luckily the weather held out just long enough and now all the gardeners get a well deserved break from watering 😄! Here's looking forward to next year! Until then, Happy Gardening!

GardenWalk Cleveland: Changing neighborhood perceptions through creative landscapes GardenWalk Cleveland will feature more than 400 gardens in 11 Cleveland neighborhoods this weekend—showing off the work, creativity, and neighborhood pride of local gardeners.

The 2024 guide is finally here! Pick one up at your favorite local nursery and at other select retailers! Copies will also be available at neighborhood info stations during the event July 13 & 14! GardenWalk goes on rain or shine, and is always FREE!

Interested in volunteering during GardenWalk 2024? We’re looking for volunteers to staff info stations in each neighborhood. Want to learn how to manage insects in your garden without using harmful chemicals? 🌱🪲 Join Cleveland Roots Garden Manager Ibrahim (Ebi) Jones as he guides us through organic approaches to pest management.

Workshop participants will learn about:
- plant spacing
- attracting beneficial insects
- companion planting
- using soil and plant treatments to protect against harmful insects

Throughout the workshop, we will be identifying insects and insect damage, and discussing how to use all-organic practices to prevent further damage, to remove insects, and to encourage healthy plant growth.

Jones is a East Cleveland native who has gardened for 10 years, been a Certified Master Gardener for 5 and has been managing the garden at Cleveland Roots for the past 3 years.

This event is FREE and open to the public. Registration is required.

Seed saving is a growing movement which encourages the growing of heirloom and open-pollinated plant varieties in order to increase the genetic diversity for gardeners and farmers.
