After almost 1 year of procrastinating, this set of night stands for my beautiful wife are fully fabricated. For some reason I have a rejuvenated sense of energy š¤. Made of 90% scraps left over from other projects, makes them definitely paint grade which is what was asked for.. some light sanding and on to paintā¦ I hope that it doesnāt take another year to pick out the paint color and k**bs š¤£š¤£ finished photos to follow soon ā¦ š¤
Starting Monday June 10th MFR will be back in full swingā¦ I will have lots of time to take on more projectsā¦ if there is something you have been thinking about or wondering about feel free to reach out to me with questions or requestsā¦ I have a few projects lined up already, but have room for moreā¦ āļø

Just putting the final touches on this beautiful black cherry collapsible shelf unit for Marie Shimmelā¦ it disassembles and folds up in about 45 seconds.. had a blast building thisā¦

Had a few minutes to finally finish the repair and restoration of a rocking chair that was used by our daughter Heather when she was a wee totā¦ I will deliver next Saturday as we go to Battle Creek for the state bowling tournamentā¦I hope that Princess Natalie enjoys rocking and reading in this chair as much as her mother didā¦āļø
Finishing touches put on this piece today.. it was a lane cedar chest I found in terrible conditionā¦ made all new molding, new legs and refinished the entire pieceā¦ it will be a donation to the upcoming BVL bowling fundraiser as a raffle prize.. this tournament raises money for our veterans recreation, proceeds typically going to the Battle Creek and Clare VA facilities.. if interested in raffle tickets contact me at +19899441588, tickets are $5 each āļø

The past 7 1/2 months have definitely been some the most emotional months of my lifeā¦that little Princess has made me as happy as I can ever rememberā¦ today I pulled out my very 1st woodworking project everā¦ and memories/emotions came out againā¦.it was made in 1985 for our very own Heatherā¦ all I had was a small circular saw, a drill, some screwdrivers and a handful of sandpaperā¦built in the hallway of our apartment complex š¤£š¤£it will now serve as Natalieās toy box at grandma and grandpaās houseā¦ if had not been opened in about 25 years š³ā¦ everything packed away just as it was put away all these years ago, plus dust and cobwebsā¦.š¤£š¤£ in it was a suitcase full of Barbieās/clothes, a Barbie dream house and a Barbie camperā¦.i can only dream of all the fun that Natalie will have playing with these precious toys handed down from her motherā¦ happy New Year to each and every one of you, letās make some more memories in 2024 š·
Things have been pretty quiet as of late in my workshop, sometimes life just gets in the wayā¦but I have had some extra time as of late to work on this piece for a special young lady that has plenty of toys and will have loads more after her 1st Christmas this yearā¦ we at MFR would like to wish each and every one of you, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy new Yearā¦
My brother had this laser etched plaque made for me as a Christmas presentā¦ I did a bit of shaping and oiled itā¦ not so sure where I will display it yetā¦ but it will be visibleā¦ thank you so very much Mark Potter, and Mark Lashuay fir etching orā¦ absolutely love this āļø
I plan on beginning a new spec project this weekā¦ probably gonna be a hope/blanket chestā¦ if anybody is in the market or thinking your young teen daughter could use one please let me know and we can design it with your desiresā¦. āļø

Just finished this chalkboard for the Kings Disposal pay it forward golf outing on Saturdayā¦it is up cycled using the footboard from our daughters baby cribā¦ it will be in the silent auction.. Each year Kings disposal does this fundraiser to raise money to help someone who is in need.. this year the proceeds will go to a fellow bowler, Sean Embrey who is currently battling Cancerā¦. It is an amazing feeling to be able to help others in their time of needā¦

It has been a while since I have had the desire to get into the workshop and I have let a few projects simmer.. the last few days I have been able to get motivated and finish up 2 projects and get started on another. 1) repair of a damaged Tiffany lamp for Karen Lewis and 2) a card box for a nice young lady from Kalamazoo to use for her upcoming wedding.. Sylvia Dibble gave me a picture of something that she desired and I built the box as instructed and used some real cool gothic hinges and lid latchā¦ she will decorate it with the gold accents to add the final touchesā¦ it felt good to make sawdust againā¦and I got a good start on a decorative wooden flag for Cooper Mathewson as wellā¦ everybody enjoy your holiday
Just finished this bookcase/display rack for Stephanie Sanburn, it was actually 1 year ago today she got one exactly like thisā¦ so this makes 2 š¤ā¦ I hope she enjoys it as much as the 1st one..
Final coat of paint and fully assembled this weekendā¦ as I stood back and looked at it a tear rolled down my cheekā¦ I am so excited for Heather and Parker to become parents, and experience that love
I put the finishing touches on this 6 ball storage rack for the BVL raffle next Saturday ā¦ 2 Squads plus raffle for some excellent prizes and 50/50 ticket sales as well with all proceeds going to our Veterans activities.. last year the Mount Pleasant bowling association raise over $6000 and passed it in the the VA Facility in Battle Creek MIā¦ be there or be square š¤£

I have been working on cut list and fabrication for the project that will hold the most sentiment to me everā¦ Parker helped to assemble the front rail section this morningā¦ I always love a helper š. Waiting for plugs to dry and begin the arduous task of sandingā¦ next weekend will be fabrication and assembly of the Shiplap back sectionā¦Baby Fleming will be here this spring and needs a bed to rest inā¦more to follow as it comes together āļø
