We’ve been home now for about a week, straight back to work…

I just wanted to include the pics from our last full day in Fairmont, BC, and area to showcase more possibilities of what this area offers.

Since this is such an easy 6 hour drive from where we live, we are already thinking that we will return. Leave in the morning, stop for lunch halfway, and arrive at checkin time. Perfect😊

If anyone is interested in booking this wonderful resort, please message us here or email at [email protected]. The price for both the A AND B units was $220CA/night for 7 nights - a great deal!

The pics are of the town of Invermere and Lake Windermere - which has a spray park in the park by the public beach.

Have a suite and blissful day🏔️🌲

Our adventures, Thursday, July 18

We drove to the other side of the Dutch Creek Hoodoos that we had earlier hiked to the top of. It’s not just the little bit featured in the first set of pics. It wraps right around the point. Beautiful!

We drove to Colombia Lake provincial park. It is a nature preserve for the wetlands and river coming off the Columbia Lake. There was a really good place to launch watercraft for floating the river. Such wonderful views of the river and the Lake! Some small fuzzy flowers en mass - that had gone to seed. A beautiful wildflower scene.

We also saw the second associated resort that we could book at.

Yesterday’s adventures (Wed, July 17)

I went to another crafting session in the morning. More rock painting, lol! Instead of straight out painting them, I did another mandala painting - a total experiment. It was so much fun and relaxing! Again all materials were supplied! Beadwork was also offered, but I didn’t go to those classes.

In the afternoon, we just relaxed in our suite during the heat of the day - reading, napping, watching TV. We forgot about a local Farmers Market we wanted to go to….dang…oh well…at least there’s a couple more this week!

In the late afternoon, we went to the pools, sauna, and steam room. An indoor hot tub and pool kept us out of the hot sun and was really refreshing. We went in the outdoor hot tub for a bit, but returned to the refuge of the indoor pools.

We also checked out the games room - billiards, shuffleboard, puzzles, and air hockey.

After supper, we walked to the golf course clubhouse and checked out the restaurant there. There’s no restaurant on-site at the resort, but this one is walking distance. Usual pub type fare, and prices are fairly standard.

Again, a nice relaxing day🏔️

Yesterday’s adventure - crafts and groceries in Invermere and Windermere

This resort has a variety of free activities available. In the basement of the main building, there is a fitness room, kids play area, and craft room. The craft that I was interested in was Mandala Rock Painting. I had never tried this before, and I thought it would be fun. It was!

All the supplies needed were supplied. It was a really relaxing, enjoyable way to spend an hour! A pic of the rock I painted is below. Not bad for a 1st try!

We drove to Invermere for a few groceries. We went to No Frills for the few things we needed, but continued downtown afterwards. There was a Sobeys and Valley Grocery there. We just checked out the Valley store. Locally owned and run. A really nice store. The first thing that greeted us was the smell of fresh cinnamon buns! Nice fresh produce and baking. Local specialties as well. Prices about the same as Sobeys.

We then stopped at Hopkins Harvest. They were selling cherries in bulk by the pound. I’ve never seen so many cherries at once. There was a huge table that was about 4 feet square and about 6 inches deep - it was full!

They were selling all the seasonal fruits and veggies, local jams and jellies, sauces, some meats and lunch meats. Not a full grocery selection. I think it’s mostly supplied by local farmers for sale. Very interesting place!

What a nice day!

Yesterday’s adventure - a hike to the top of the Dutch Creek Hoodoos!

It is a 3km hike (round trip), with a 95m rise. Some spots were a bit steep and exposed to the sun, with tiny areas of shade from the trees. The temp was about 85F, so it was hot! When we got close to the top, it levelled out more and there were more areas of shade with the trees. At one point, there was a much appreciated, well placed bench that had a nice breeze coming up the mountain.

I was able to appreciate so much on this hike! The views all along the way were spectacular! Wildflowers I had never seen before. At the summit, a grand view of the whole valley. Dutch Creek feeding into Columbia Lake (to the right), and the Columbia River flowing south from the Columbia Lake. This is the start of the Columbia River that flows into the States and creates the Columbia River Gorge! It’s small and unassuming here at the headwater!

In one pic, you can see the highway that we took the day before to visit the hoodoos, and the turnoff to the hike parking area.

On the way down, I took a pic at about the halfway point, and on the left you can see some buildings with red roofs. That is the resort we are staying at.

So glad we had water with us!!! This hike took us about an hour and a half in total. It was wonderful!

Photos from Suite Vacation Bliss's post 15/07/2024

Yesterday we went to the Fairmont Farmers Market, Dutch Creek Hoodoos, and Fairmont Hot Springs. In my teens, we spent part of every summer camping at Fairmont Hot Springs, so I’m very familiar with this whole area. It’s interesting to see what has changed and what hasn’t.

Photos from Suite Vacation Bliss's post 14/07/2024

This is the second suite we have in Fairmont, BC, which is adjoining the main suite (see previous pics). It is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath suite, but is smaller than the main suite. It has a full kitchen with a full fridge, oven/stove, microwave and dishwasher. Compared to the main suite, everything is a bit downsized.

I am totally impressed with this unit! We have stayed in this type of unit before, and the biggest thing that ticked me off was the size of the fridge and there was no oven. This one has a full fridge and full stove (cooktop and oven)! They are not full size, but they are there!!! This is a great budget friendly option that I would highly recommend!!! I would stay here!

As a secondary unit, as an accompaniment to the main unit, it is wonderful! So many options with this!

We were renting both the main unit AND secondary unit for $220/night! Crazy!

Yet another place we will return to. Love it💖💖💖

Photos from Suite Vacation Bliss's post 14/07/2024

We hit the road again! No one picked up the 2 suite rental in Fairmont, BC, so we are there!!!

These are our digs for the next week. Love it💖 So many wonderful amenities on site, gorgeous views! Nestled in a valley right beside the river with mountains surrounding. Nice and hot, with great ac in the suite. BBQ and table and chairs on a spacious deck, with a wonderful view of the river, even from our living room -so many rafters, canoers, paddle boarders! I’m thinking that that would be fun!!!

All this and we still have a second suite! I’ll post pics of that later.

Yesterday, we arrived at Lake Pend Oreille Shores Resort in Idaho. It’s right on the lakefront! Boating, fishing, or just relaxing by the lake….aaah.

We are in a 1 bedroom, 1 bath condo that again, is soooo spacious! The fold out couch allows accommodations for 4. A full kitchen, fireplace and lots of seating to relax. 2 bedroom condos are available as well. Such a wonderful scenic view out the living room window and deck doors…..the lake, the mountains….again, aaaaah.

We are 25 minutes drive from Sandpoint, Idaho. 50 minutes drive to Silverwood Theme Park, the largest theme park in the Pacific Northwest, Such an interesting, fun place to visit! There are 3 ski hills within driving distance. One of these is Schweitzer Mountain Resort, which is a multi season resort.

Another resort that we could easily spend a week at!

Photos from Suite Vacation Bliss's post 12/05/2024

On the road again😊 we are at Meadowview Lake Resort at Columbia Falls, Montana! This is a golf and ski resort.

This is our first time staying here. We are in a 2 bedroom suite, and it is wonderful! A BBQ on the deck and a private huge hot tub. A full kitchen, and tons of room. This unit sleeps 6 (pull out couch). It backs onto a golf course and is so peaceful. 10 miles from Whitefish, MT. Glacier National Park is so close (just to the north). Huckleberry everything! Mmmmm…. So much natural beauty everywhere. Right now, it really smells like spring, so fresh!

We are only here for 2 nights, but I definitely want to return for a whole week!

Have a suite and blissful day🏔️🌲☀️

We have spent this last week at Villa La Estancia, Nuevo Narayit, Mexico. Today we are heading home…we never want to leave…

We did the optional All Inclusive for 5 days out of the 7. The food was wonderful! I was able to try some new foods and had my favourites that I only have while in Mexico. I realize that I now have a food and drink bucket list, lol.

We stayed in a luxurious 2 bedroom 3 bath suite. There are pics of this attached.

We normally take the 20 - 30 minute path walk into the town of Bucerias, to shop and dine at the wonderful local shops and restaurants. This path is just across the road from our resort. This time, we chose to relax and recharge at the resort - walking on the beach, beachside loungers and poolside loungers - soaking up the fantastic sun and sea air.

If you are interested in staying at Villa La Estancia, or the sister resort, Villa Del Palmar Flamingos, next door, please message us. Note that due to their popularity, these popular resorts typically need to be booked a year in advance. We have some that we have prebooked, and other locations are also available (Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, etc).

🤔Where have we travelled to? 🤔

We get asked this a lot and I would like to share some of the locations that we have personally been to. This list is only some of the opportunities and options available.

Maybe you have some of these on your bucket list 😉

In this post, I am featuring Mexican locations and resorts.

We have stayed in most of the levels of suites - from a junior/studio suite to a 4 bedroom, all with different levels of luxury and price points. The on-site spas feature Agua Therapy, which is a wonderful, relaxing experience! Garza Blanca and Villa del Palmar resorts offer an All Inclusive option.

Nuevo Narayit (formerly Nuevo Vallarta) Mexico - resorts we have stayed in are Villa del Palmar Flamingos, and Vidanta (where the Mexican Open is being played right now, on their golf course, within the resort - which we have access to) and an on resort theme park. Another beautiful resort option is Garza Blanca. A short walk into the small town of Bucerias and a short distance to Puerto Vallarta.

Loreto, Mexico - Villa del Palmar, also with an outstanding golf course.

Puerto Penasco, Mexico - Vidanta, you can catch a shuttle from Phoenix which takes you across the border to the resort with no hassle.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico - Villa del Palmar, 3 different buildings with different levels of luxury and price points. We had a wonderful scuba diving experience.

Cancun/Playa Del Carmen, Mexico - Villa del Palmar, and Vidanta. Beautiful Caribbean water, exquisite resorts, rich Mayan heritage. Garza Blanca is another resort option here.

Acapulco, Mexico - Vidanta, so much Hollywood history. Very hot when we were there. Cliff divers were spectacular!

Mazatlan, Mexico - The Inn at Mazatlan, located on the beach, in the Golden Zone. Lots of great restaurants and amenities within walking distance. They have pulmonies (open air taxis - golf carts) that are extremely affordable and fun to take, if you would rather not walk. You can buy freshly caught fish and seafood right on the beach in front of this resort every morning (It was really yummy!). We have access to another resort in Mazatlan, but we haven’t stayed there.

We have rented a car multiple times, taken the city bus, and a greyhound type bus from city to city - taken multiple day trips, on our own, from these resorts to small towns in the area. From scuba diving, to shopping, to zip lining, tequila tours, theme parks, grocery shopping, food experiences (including scrumptious food carts), historical sites, music and entertainment, and so, so much more! Each vacation, location, and resort is a new experience! We love different things about each one that we have stayed in.

Where would you like to go? 🤔🤔🤔

In the future, I will feature the resorts listed above and will also include our travels to different locations in the United States (for even more ideas 😊).

😊💫VACATION 💫😊 - this word has so many different meanings for each of us. All very individual and personal to each of us.

What does YOUR vacation look like?

Are you escaping a season &/or purposely going to certain weather? Which ones? Eg. Winter skiing or winter tropical?

How long? A weekend getaway or a week or 2?

What geography are you looking for? Mountains, ocean, jungle, desert, beach, hot springs, waterfalls?

What are your interests and activities? Locally sourced, regional food and drinks, special restaurants, shows, gambling, art, music, culture, specific festivals or events, fishing, golfing, hiking, walking, biking, history, nature, relaxing, sunbathing, spa time and treatments?

Who is with you? Just you and your partner, your nuclear family, extended family, friends…?

Maybe you like what I call combo vacations, as we do. Sometimes it’s just the 2 of us, sometimes family, sometimes another couple, sometimes a larger group of friends. Depending on the location, some interests and activities feature more prominently than others.

Las Vegas - shows, gambling, glitz, outlet shopping, rodeo, walking the strip, history, specialty stores and restaurants. There are also special events such as NASCAR.

Mexico - hot weather, sunbathing, pool time, tropical drinks, spa time and treatments, locally sourced food (like fresh shrimp and scallops)and spirits (of course, many varieties of Good tequila), ethnic foods, fishing, walking the malechon and the beach, the whole ocean experience, gorgeous sunsets, nature based theme parks, a Cirque de Soleil show, a Cirque de Soleil theme park, history, art, golf, and more…..

These 2 are very different because of their locale. Every location we have visited had something special and unique, and we’ve enjoyed so many in Mexico, the USA, and in Canada.

We are often asked what locations and suites we have access to. If I were to list them all, I would have a small book, there are that many! I will list a few really popular ones here, ones we have personally visited, and what’s on our bucket list.

I will also be posting bookings that we have made in advance for the coming months. These are available for rent now. We normally need at least 1 year in advance to book - these resorts and suites fill up fast.

In the meantime, think about where you would like to go, what you would like to do, and when you would like to go. So many affordable options are available! Questions? Queries? Need help deciding? Please message us.

Have a suite and blissful day🌺🌴
