Mariko Studio
A full-service design studio specializing in strategically crafted branding & websites for small businesses and creatives.
Hey friends, it’s been a while—let’s catch up! Here are some things I’ve been focusing on in this season of business and life:
✨ Finding creative partners that feel aligned with the work we do. Appreciating the beauty of outsourcing to free up time and focus on my strengths.
✨ Revisiting our range of services and working hard behind the scenes on a new website that reflects our updated offers.
✨ Building deeper relationships with our existing clients. Serving them from a 360 perspective and all areas of their brand from brand strategy to marketing resources.
✨ Shutting my laptop down at 6pm sharp and prioritizing time outside. Dog walks in the sunshine are good for the soul.
✨ Moving my body in ways that feel good to me based on my cycle and mood. Lately I’m loving a combination of HIIT and slower paced strength training.
✨ Wedding planning! Slowly locking in our vendors and starting on the beginning stages of all the design details.

It’s soft launch day for .yxe! 🌾🎉
With this rebranding journey, Haven & Co’s (formerly Haven Builders) goal was to expand and realign their brand to encompass a comprehensive range of services, transitioning from builders to a full-service atelier offering turnkey home solutions. In this pursuit, designer Charissa consistently emphasized the concept of ‘Prairie Luxury’.
Embracing this vision, we crafted a brand that embodied this concept. Drawing inspiration from the grassy landscapes of the prairies and the timeless sophistication of 1920s art deco—paying homage to the historic downtown Saskatoon building where they operate.
Immensely grateful for the collaboration with the .yxe team thus far and there’s still so much more to come!
Stay tuned for the unveiling of their website ⏳

What are 5 essential characteristics of a good brand mark?
1. Simplicity: A good brand mark is simple and easily recognizable. It should be quickly understood and memorable.
2. Memorability: A success brand mark is one that leaves a lasting impression. It should stick in the minds of your consumers, making it easy for them to recall and associate it with your brand.
3. Versatility & Scalability: The mark should be versatile and effective across various contexts and mediums. It should look good whether it’s displayed on a business card OR a billboard.
4. Timelessness: A good brand mark stands the test of time. It avoids trends that may quickly become outdated, ensuring that it remain relevant for years to come.
5. Distinctiveness: A successful brand mark is unique and stands out from competitors. It helps the brand differentiate itself from the market.
Designing packaging and collateral will forever be one of my favourite parts of a branding project. There’s something so satisfying about bringing a brand to life through tangible items.

Exciting brand reveal for !
We thoroughly enjoyed the creative journey on this project as we revamped their former DIY’d brand identity, infusing it with personality that mirrors their values.
Lezè The Label offers comfortable workleisure wear made from recycled materials, giving you that cozy pajama feel. Our strategic approach aimed to create a brand identity resonating with all genders.
The inspiration behind the branding concept emerged from juxtaposing sleek, modern elements against the cloud-like softness of the clothing. We explored tactile details with embossing, organic shapes, and a bold, memorable brand mark.
Colours, inspired by nature and ocean hues, pay homage to the recycled materials used, like fishing nets. 🌊

Let’s talk mockups!
In the world of brand design, mockups are like the creative playground where ideas become tangible elements.💡They're the unsung heroes behind that unforgettable logo on your coffee cup or the sleek branding on your favourite tech gadget.📱☕
Think of mockups as the cool and laid-back DJ at the design party – they set the vibe, make everything look effortlessly stylish, and ensure your brand’s vibe hits all the right notes.
Whether it's a business card, product label, website homepage, or a social media post, mockups are your trusty sidekick in visualizing the big picture. All of your individual brand elements are just dots on the canvas until mockups bring them to life! 🎨
Talina came to us with a clear vision for her new Pilates studio. She wanted the experience to feel like a spa-like oasis of calmness and inner connection.
The significance of the number Seven resonates deeply for her – a nod to both her personal journey and the 6 core Pilates principles, with the 7th, more elusive principle, being spirituality.🌿💫
Our goal was to mirror this through the studio's branding, aligning every element with that mind, body, and spiritual connection you’ll feel when you enter the space. ✨

A very special custom brand mark with a beautiful deeper meaning —
Inspired by traditional Indigenous beadwork found in work, we came up with an icon that reflects the meticulous, handcrafted detail that goes into every piece, but with a modern twist that would represent her contemporary designs.
The flower we selected is a Yukon Bluebell, a symbol of designer Natasha’s home and a reminder of her grandmother, her favourite flower. 💙
