We would like to congratulate Emma Frances Bloomfield and Samantha Senda-Cook for receiving the Christine L. Oravec Journal Article Award in Environmental Communication for their article “Building Coalitions from Shared Pieties: Polyvocal Religious Environmentalism at the Asian Rural Institute”, published earlier this year in JSRNC: https://doi.org/10.1558/jsrnc.20381
This article advances scholarly conversations in two areas: environmental communication practices beyond the north Atlantic, and religious environmental communication by explaining how shared pieties can animate Christian environmentalisms. The Committee was struck, too, by the fact that the article, “though distinctly EC scholarship” as the nominator put it, appears in an interdisciplinary outlet.
