When Philip left the restaurant twenty-two years ago to start Terra Spice, Peter of Chicago Game & Gourmet was one of our first customers. Now, decades later, the two still work together and operate their businesses with a similar philosophy.

Along with our new logo and labels, we have an updated wholesale website, a redesigned e-commerce website, and a page on our new terraspice.com for stories from our kitchen-because the heart of our business is food and the joy of sharing a meal with others.

We are delighted to share our new logo.
The mark is reminiscent of a crocus flower—a meaningful representation of our brand because it produces saffron, a premium spice requiring meticulous care when harvesting. Andy Baraghani explains in Bon Appetit:
“Each flower produces only three threads (stigmas) of saffron, and it blooms for only one week each year. The saffron must be harvested—by hand!—in the mid-morning, when the flowers are still closed in order to protect the delicate stigmas inside. It takes about 1,000 flowers to produce just one ounce of saffron."
