Without this team, my college experience would have been so different. These girls have given me a family and sense of belonging. Coming together and sharing our passion for dance genuinely makes me happy. Whether it’s at a game or practice, there’s always infectious energy. I have made so many friendships and memories on this team that I wouldn’t change for anything. I love watching everyone grow and push themselves to new limits. “Dance has always been more than just something I do in my free time, it is a growing passion. I’ve been competitively dancing since I was in 4 years old while also dancing in high school. There was no doubt in my mind, that I didn’t want to dance in college. Joining IDT has made my freshman year unforgettable and memorable. I have been given countless opportunities that I am so grateful for. I have created a lifetime worth of memories whether it was late-night practices in the studio, in Florida for nationals, traveling on the bus to MAAC championships, or even community service events. I can’t thank dance enough for making this team a piece of my life. This team has brought me not only amazing teammates but also girls who have shown me unconditional support through everything. “Dancing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I decided to attend college, I knew I wanted to continue my love and passion for dance. When I went on my tour for Iona and heard they had a dance team, I was sold. Joining the team my freshman year was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Throughout my journey on the dance team, I have grown so much as a person, a dancer, a student, and a teammate. I can confidently say I have made lifelong friendships with these girls and hold them so close to my heart. This team has been there for me through all my ups and downs and has supported me every step of the way. And I wouldn’t change it for a thing. I want to thank Coach, especially for making it all possible for us. Without her dedication and love, the Iona Dance Team would not be where it is today. Today at Westchester Medical Center we helped our community by putting togetherr toiletry/ personal bag for survivors in need. Iona G.I.V.E Grant has gave us this opportunity we are very excited and grateful to help along the way. In total, about 60-70 students helped with this community service project, which is very exciting!!

Together, we are doing a very special thing: helping others in need. Thank you .i.v.e.grant ✨

“Growing up as a competitive dancer I knew I wanted to continue dancing in college. To say the least, Joining the Iona Dance Team has made my freshman year extremely unforgettable. From every practice, basketball game, and competition rehearsal these girls continue to inspire me everyday. We have created so many amazing memories that I will truly cherish forever like competing at my first college UDA nationals!! Our practices always brighten my day and I love watching each and every one of my teammates grow! The passion we share for dance is extremely special and pushes us to be the best versions of ourselves. I couldn’t have asked to dance along side a more talented and welcoming group of people. Each year on April 6, colleges and universities across the country take time to acknowledge the outstanding contributions that student-athletes make on their campus! Dancing at a high level requires physical strength, stamina, flexibility and co-ordination – and levels of practice comparable to the work of professional athletes.

𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐚 has spent this season as our 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫 and looks forward to being our 𝐂𝐨-𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 along side Sophie!

𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐚 shares what the team and being 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 means to her, “It has been an incredible three years of commitment, dedication, and pure love for dance as a member of the Iona dance team. Every practice, game, and moment I’ve spent with friends has fed my soul and sparked my spirit. I can’t describe how excited I am to be co-captain. It’s not only about being a team leader but also about giving every task my all, pushing my teammates to new limits, and passionately continuing our team’s traditions. I am so confident in my team and what we are capable of. I’m very excited about this opportunity because it allows me to transform all that love and passion into something so special.
