Quick little trip to Shark Bay Speedway for the 36th Far Western Championships resulted in a 2nd Place finish. Well done to Blake Jackson on the win. We chased set up all day and nearly got there in the end. Awesome weather, awesome event, we will be back.

Massive shout out to Jason Curtis, not only for allowing the use of his engine but he was also crew chief, travel companion and drinking buddy.

We took home best presented car and 3rd place in the WA Limited Sprintcars Championship.

What a turn around! What a whirlwind!

From not planning to race this past weekend on Wednesday, to the boys bolting an engine in on Thursday and getting the truck back to Carnarvon mid arvo Friday. We were pleasantly surprised when our motor showed some promise out of the box. We fine tuned and chipped away over the 2 nights and 5 heats to put ourselves out of P2 in the 25 lap feature.

With a good start and a very drivable race car we settled into the lead and ran a solid 23 laps on the wall. With 2 to go another car showed his nose on the bottom and driving the top harder wasn’t the answer, bouncing off the fence a few times, we crossed the line for 2nd place. Congratulations to Trent Lyall on the Win.

All said and done, just being at the track was a win for Ettridge Motorsport. Without the dedication of Tom 'Tomka' Roberts, Brenton Ettridge and Jason Curtis it would not have been possible. I am forever greatful for their support. Equally, Joanna Ettridge for her understanding and support. Now time to head home, recoup, and go again. Onwards and upwards team!

As we ponder what the last week could have been, we can not forget to thank our amazing supporters. 3 years ago racing a Sprintcar was a pipe dream, in 2 short years it has brought so many highs and a couple of lows. That’s not how it was meant to go, but ……”that’s racing”….

Unfortunately we encountered some engine issues first race, first night out. Without being sure of the extent of the damage we have decided to park it. Absolutely gutted for the boys. So much time and effort in the lead up for it to end so abruptly.

Tom has headed back south in the truck while Brenton and I continue to relive some more of his glory days and continue on the north west speed-week circuit as spectators. Time for a little holiday and to regroup and reassess.

On a positive note, was absolutely stoked to see Chirky and Ollie take their first win.

The team boss is getting a little sentimental as we roll into Newman for Night 1 of racing at Hillview Speedway.

Jumped backed in the kart and came away with the W. Chipped away all day to get in a position to win and managed to hold off a couple of the best to take out our first Great Southern Slam. Thanks to BRK Karts for their support.

He’s only been in Limited Sprintcars for two seasons, but Joel Ettridge has quickly become one of the top drivers in the division.

On Thursday May 25 Ettridge will head to Hillview Speedway for round one of the four round Pilbara Sprintweek.

It’s been over 20 years since an event like this in Newman making it one not to miss.

In an effort to keep turning laps we headed to the Perth Motorplex for a run at the Fast Friday event. It was a good opportunity to try a few new things, after some good battles we came away with the win. As the dust settles we look back on what was another successful weekend for the Ettridge Motorsport team. We chipped away after qualifying down the order to give ourselves a fighting chance come feature race time on Saturday. Starting amongst the best Limited drivers meant nothing came easy but we did enough to cross the line to claim WA3.

Awesome night at round 9 of the WA Limited Sprintcars Championship and second running of the carby nationals.

The crew busted their butts all night to ensure the car was on point come feature time. With two good heats and a strong showing in the dash we started off the front row with the ever dominant Michael Keen. We settled into second off the start and then waited for an opportunity to take the lead, which eventually arose at half race distance.

A massive thanks to the crew, family and team supporters. We now look ahead to the state title in a fortnight’s time at the Perth Motorplex.

🏁Geraldton City Speedway 28/01/23 Recap

Not the greatest start to the night with damage suffered in lap 1 of hot laps. The team scrambled to get out for heat 1 and with no idea what the car would do we managed 6th from 8th. A few minor changes dialled the car in and we won from the front row in our second heat.

This put us 6th in points meaning a birth in the pole dash. Managing to quick time in the bronze, silver and gold dash we started P1 for the feature. Getting away to an early lead the car was great in clean air. Being too cautious in lap traffic left the door open for the chasing Tim King. We had a crack at retaking the lead but Kingy was too good and we crossed the line in second.

A fair bit of damage to repair before we race nice and close to home at Bunbury Speedway this Saturday night.

We ventured to the Perth Motorplex for two separate events Friday and Saturday night to get some valuable laps ahead of the Limited Sprintcar State Title in a few weeks time.

We tried a few different things on Friday night and managed to get the win 🏆 from pole position in the feature.

After another couple of solid heats on Saturday we again put the 77 on pole for the feature. Unfortunately, due to time restraints, the feature was cancelled so we packed her up and brought her home.

A massive thanks to the crew for putting in a solid effort all weekend. Special mention to the Curtis family for their hospitality and helping turn the car around to go again the second night.

We head to Geraldton for the “King of the Hill” next weekend.
