There have been some changes in the mix the past few months and we wanted to share an update from .events co-founder Rachel Quan:
I founded this company almost a decade ago with Brent Walla because we were friends who loved producing events and why not go and do what we loved doing? Along the way we got to produce some great events, build some wonderful teams and create a culture we enjoyed immensely. These most recent years have been extremely challenging with the pandemic and the world figuring it out along the way, especially in the realm of event production - and it helped make clear that I was ready for a different pace and place… which has led to my decision to make that change and announce that I’ve officially sold my partnership, leaving it in the capable hands of colleague John Monroe. He and the great team we have had the privilege of building together these past few years, will be taking the company from here. For now, I’ll continue my VP role with the 2023 NCAA Men’s Final Four.
To those of you who helped along the way - THANK YOU. You are the reason for the growth - both for the company and for me personally. I’m grateful for all its given me and am looking forward to all that comes next (as well as as an incredible Final Four in 2023). Wishing John and the rest of the team (and you) all my best as we all keep doing what we love and love what we’re doing.

A salute to our Vietnam Veterans. The first time we’ve gotten to call show with an Air Boss(thanks Lt Colonel Scarsdale!) for some great flyover elements. Crazy weather yesterday. A little Craig Morgan, Justin Moore and Toby Keith. Special thanks to for your partnership as always.
Headed into Memorial Day and saluting the fallen. We are grateful for the sacrifices made in service to our country. Hoping that wherever you are this weekend, you take a moment to remember and be grateful.

Long, hard and very hot week. But a great day. Photo dump tomorrow. For now, we are grateful for the work, the team, our client and the ability to get through a 13 hour show call.
finally got to do what we have all wanted to do for the past 3 weeks… jump in the Bellagio Fountains and not get arrested!
The NFL Draft Red Carpet Stage in the fountains took a giant crane, an amazing stage crew and… 12 scuba divers for 13 days on the in and 4 days on the out - all of them Navy Seals. They were nice enough to let John join their ranks today and swim around!
Thanks to C3 and The Production Collective for letting us be a part of such an epic build and event! It was fun to see this come together, and for John to get his cannonball moment!

Worlds collided when SBHH founding partner, Brent Walla, realized he was on a show with old friend Nick Kusiak aka “Cupcake” according to Walla. Kudos to the team who are out at Smoker’s Club for the .events team this week! Most of them went straight from the Highwater Music Festival in Charleston, SC to Long Beach for this one. Special thanks to C3 and Live Nation for letting us do these two great events! And thanks to Brent who dusted off his old show blacks and decided to join us for some real work!

Proud to be part of this project for the NFL Draft with this unique set up and the Red Carpet stage in the middle of the Bellagio Fountains. Long, hot days with a little relief when those fountains went off. Gratitude to the C3 and Production Collective teams for bringing us in on this one.

It’s been a solid run of work in San Antonio at the Valero Texas Open and Las Vegas for a big presser with F1. BIG thanks to C3 for bringing us in on these projects. And Rachel finishes out her run with the Men’s Final Four in NOLA tonight… ready to be reunited with the team soon. Special thanks to Alan and Jess with Liminal Productions for being an extended part of our team this past week in Vegas. We are so grateful for you.
John-sized hugs to our crew who work hard - overnights, long days, every kind of weather, indoors, outdoors… If John gave hugs, he’d give you all 3!

The inaugural Smokin’ Grooves and it’s been a new challenge and a great gift! Big thanks to C3 for putting us in the management mix. You’d never know it was a warehouse in Cleveland…
We enjoyed this one as the NBA came to Forest City for their All Star Game. The team worked hard to make this happen (and somehow managed to stay warm). Big thanks to Warner Media and the Bleacher Report for bringing us out to help on this one. We love seeing a space transformed and being a part of a great team!
Load out is around the corner and then we’re on to the next one!

Working hard which helps keep us warm in frigid temps. We are super glad to have Momma on this one with us - she’s kept us in a steady supply of hand and feet warmers and has also been the first line of defense in the fight on COVID - keeping us virus-free with a few fun jokes thrown in for good measure.
Happy 🐪 Day, people! The weekend is in sight, and even though we’ll be working, we always love seeing our hard work come to fruition.

We aren’t sure why, but the Queen stood him up and was a total no-show. Maybe next time. This road warrior will hop from London back to a show in Cleveland and then on and on and on…
We will have been in Miami, Cleveland, the Big Easy, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Charleston, Las Vegas and San Antonio by the time we get to the end of the first quarter (and places in between).
But we wouldn’t have it any other way. After a crazy couple of years of fits and starts, we will take all the live events we can get!

These two have spent the first half of the week “working” on the beach in Miami and posing in front of art for the heck of it. Basically, that’s how John shows Colleen the ropes. He’s also been teaching her about the best movies ever made (which the rest of us also question) and what a Bad Dad Joke is comprised of.
Which is why Colleen is happy that we are headed into the last half of the week!! Soon she’ll be on a plane sans the Bad Dad Jokes King.
Hope that wherever you find yourself working the rest of the week, it feels like a day at the beach!!

We have seen some beautiful days and experienced some very hard ones -- all of which have shaped our values and how we make decisions individually and as a company. It's how we have built our crew - a little circle of folks who share our vision and who we really care about. That's our ethos. We take care of each other, and together we take great care of our clients.
