The 3 newbies having a blast
Once again Jurien Bay Kart Club delivered.
First meeting of the year done and dusted.
Team Clune originally had 12 nominations but due to illness ended up with 8 drivers in the pits. The track crew worked their arses off with the tractor, water cart and the roller doing lap after lap.
Callan was the 1st Team Clune driver to win a race showing a clean set of heels in round 1.He showed good speed during the rest of the night and consistently finished at the front of the pack for the remainder of the meeting.
The Dog doing the same in round 2 having a win after getting taken out in Rnd 1 whilst leading the race. Another highlight for the Dog was starting the All-in out of 20th position and coming home in 4th.
T Man,Batman and Ro Ro started the night slowly with all 3 having to run in motors but showing good speed once they got them sorted.
Steve ,Jai and Todd were pumped and nervous at the same time as all 3 drivers had never raced before and weren't sure what was going to happen.
As expected after the 1st race you couldn't wipe the smiles of their faces. Come the end of the night all of them were buggered and muscle sorenees had set inππ.
All 3 got faster as the night went on and got a bit of sideways action , (sometimes way too much and had to watch the race from the infield π€ͺπ€ͺ) but they all said they had an awesome night.
Racing finally finished after midnight and the drinks starting flowing straight after that as usual the banter flowed more than the drinks.
Next hit out for most of the crew is our home track in Bencubbin in March
Its finally arrived, this weekend is the 1st kart meeting for the year.
Team Clune are heading to Jurien Bay , the usual suspects have nominated Clune Dog , T man and Batman along with the Jones Brothers Ro Ro and Cally. Making their long awaited return are the father son duo Dave and Caleb Cooper. 5 newbies are also joining the crew and making their karting debut.
Darren Sappelli in the Batman 2nd kart ( soon to be his my $$$ says π )
After many convos in the Wet Mess after work in Wiluna Steve Moore and Scott Barry decided to give the karts a crack and are heading up for a sq**rt. Scott in the former #24 Arrow and Steve in a spare kart from Team Clune HQ.
Todd Robinson ( mate of Batman for many yrs ) has jumped onto the kart bandwagon and purchased 3 karts , one for him and 2 for his sons Jai and Bayley unfortunately Bayley has work commitments so will miss out this time.
All 12 drivers are hanging out to get down and dirty once again and I'm sure a few coldies will be consumed over the next few days and lots of s**t dribble before during and after racing. π
Now that Jordyn and Tyson have put the news up on their FB pages i am happy to let everyone know aswell
Team Clune headed to Dowerin on the weekend for the clubs last meeting of the year.
Track was fast and nice and smooth all day with plenty of passing in all divisions.
T man and Potts moved up to Snr1s for the day showing plenty of pace and mixing it up with the rest of the field all day.
T man came away with a race win and Potts was only a couple of metres behind him when the chequered flag was waved.
Clune Dog also had a win and two 2nds with all three of us finishing in the top 5 most of the day.
The Bod Gig crew rocked up with 4 karts.
Young Dwayne was happy as larry when he was told the P plate could come off and showed he can mix with the rest of the pack now.
Newbie Jon finally lost the mechanical gremins with hampered his debut last meeting and was getting faster as the day went on.
Mitch carried on Jon's bad luck from last meeting and had dramas with the motor most of the day but still ended up with a smile on the dial come the days end
Rachel found a few extra ponies and had her best meeting to date with a couple of 2nds and ran all day in the top 5.
Great day with plenty of laughs and a awesome atmosphere both on and off the track.
Thanks again to all the Dowerin crew for making it an awesome season once again
Pretty much sums up why i have raced for over 30 years
Team Clune headed to Dowerin kart club over the weekend.
Four drivers turned up Cee Jay , T Man, Potts and the Dog.
Three of the boys raced together in Snr 2s with Clune Dog in Snr 1s.
The boys all laughed and joked on who was going to win the three way battle and have bragging rights by days end.
All showed great speed and drove well with the track coming up a treat and staying smooth and got faster as the day went on.
T man had been flying in his KRT over the last 4 or 5 meetings and drove well on the day and finished mid pack most of the races.
Potts having his 2nd hitout in his 2022 BRK was having a blast and getting more comfortable in the seat the more laps he did. Come feature time he was fired up and came through the field with a couple of nice moves , best one was passing 2 people on the outside of the big sweeper. Unfortunately a few laps later the engine decided to lock up sending him into the sand trap and finishing his day.
Cee jay showed good speed and had a couple of top 5 finishes during the day. With a few driving tips and subtle changes he got faster as the day went on.
Clune Dog was having his 2nd full noise run in the brand new KRT and changed a couple of things since last meeting at Bencubbin and was real happy with the new package and got a 3rd in the Snr 1s last race.
Then came " The All In " it was game on as he started dead last in the full grid field (20th spot ) After the 10 lap journey finishing in 4th with the father/daughter combo of Team Franklin taking the first 2 spots and Todd Matthews coming home in 3rd.
As usual a great day at the track and well done to everyone from the Dowerin Kart Club putting in a huge effort so we can have a sq**rt in the dirt.
Yesterday Team Clune headed to our home track The Mount Marshall and Districts Go Kart Club in Bencubbin.
T Man once again jumped into the Snr 1s and showed he can well and truly mix it with the drivers in the top division.
Jordyn had her 1st hitout in the former #24 X3 Arrow. She started cautiously to get used to the kart but as the day went on she got faster and smoother and looked like she had driven it for ages.
Les made an appearance ( after having a long break due to other commitments) in the #151 and only took a race to get back into the swing and then dialled the kart in and did real well.
His son Nathan turned up to watch but was quickly coaxed into racing and the father son combo raced in different divisions.
The Dog finally got to properly race the new KRT Nemesis. Thanks to injury / work and a rainout it was the 1st time since September last year that it was pedal to the metal. The kart felt great and was competitive all day.
Once again a big shout out to everyone at Benny to make it happen.
Track was smooth and fast all day and thanks to a small kart count we got heaps of races in and clocked up the kilometres real quick.
Great to see alot of new faces at Benny and they all left with a smile on the dial at the end of the day
Next sq**rt for Team Clune will be the Dowerin Open Day on 26th August
Yesterday Team Clune headed to our home track Mount Marshall and Districts go kart club in Bencubbin.
We had 6 karts in our possie racing.
T Man, Potts and Cee Jay moved up to play with the big dogs in Snr 1s with all 3 never having raced at Benny in their new karts .
Young Dwayne was fired up and couldn't wait to get back on the track on his J powered machine. Bit of Father daughter rivalry in the camp with Rachel and Jon Giggins going head to head , Jon was making his debut in the Son in laws kart and by days end was was saying stuff this borrowing a kart I'm having too much fun and need my own π.
The track was fast and smooth all day with great racing in all divisions.
The vibe at the track great was awesome with everyone having a blast and lots of new faces.
Can't wait till we till we do it all again next month.
Fingers crossed i aint crook and get to have a sq**rt
Cheers Clune Dog
Great nights racing at Jurien Bay Kart Club once again. Many thanks to all that help with the lead up and on the night. Tricky conditions for the track crew with the wind blowing a gale but all worked out with the track being smooth and fast as per usual.busy night in the pits early on with a few electrical dramas, carbies playing up and a couple of motor changes but with a tweek here and there by the end of the night all the karts were flying.
We all can't wait to do it all again soon
Once again the build up to another race meeting has been busy. This time around busier than usual with a heap of tyres to be grooved, changing of motors, and also 3 drivers having their 1st sq**rt in new karts.
The Dog is back after injury and can't wait to get into the brand new KRT.
Kain had way to much fun in his 1st outing last time at Jurien and has purchased the Arrow X1 off the T Man. once again Kain will share driving duties with his brother Marlee ( who i suspect will be on the hunt for his own kart shortly )
T Man was thinking about moving into a newer kart and after a quick chat with Phil from Kustom Karts has purchased the KRT Slingshot house kart driven by Phils son , it arrived from South Australia and was picked up on Tuesday and is locked and loaded in the trailer already.
Jordyn has missed the last couple of meetings due to work commitments and is ready to pedal the Arrow X3.
Potts missed the bus last meeting thanks to covid and is making the journey this time around, he is keener than his tyres are soft π
Ro Ro has been missing for a while due to work and injury and is hanging to get down and dirty once again.
Young Gun Jye loved his 1st meeting before Christmas and is ready to tear up the track again.
It will be a great way to start the season for 2023 at Jurien on Saturday night.
Drive safe everyone and see you there.
The new toy is just about ready to go .Bolt on the motor and we are ready. Thanks again to Phil at Kustom Karts. Craig Douglas for the signs and Thomas Unwin for the freshened up motor. Looking forward to getting dirty in Jurien Bay Jan 14th
Well what a way to see out 2022.
Team Clune rocked up to Jurien Bay Kart Club with 8 drivers ready to get down and dirty . 4 of those drivers making their debut , 2 their 2nd meeting and a couple of old hands T man and Cally.
The pit area was full with cars , trailers, caravans and swags in every possible location.
Approx 100 karts were prepped and ready to rumble.
All the work done by the members and volunteers during the week was 2nd to none and the track looked a treat.
Racing got under way in the arvo with a couple of rounds before we stopped for the sun to set. During this time a familiar face in a red suit did his best Evil Knievel impersonation and then handed out treats to onlookers both young and old.
Thanks to the wind and sun during the day the water truck wasn't parked up as early as usual when the lights go on , this ended being the right decision with 2 and 3 wide racing all over the track.
As usual later in the night the track came alive with all divisions putting on great clean fast racing.
Last race of the night finished well after midnight and we still had 17 karts on the grid.
Best thing is we get to do it all again on Jan 14th.
All going well with my injury I will be on the track and getting in the thick of things once again
Take care and keep safe over the chrissy period and lets start off 2023 with another great night at the track
Cheers Clune dog

Christmas has come a little bit early. One piece of the new look for The Dog arrived today

The end of the year is fast approaching but Team Clune Racing have one more hit out before then .
17th Dec sees us heading to Jurien Bay go kart club for a night meeting.
Nominations opened up on the weekend and were filling up fast ( close to 100 atm )
Team Clune well represented with 9 drivers making the trek north.
Usual suspects T man and Batman leading the way and keen to shine under the bright lights.
Cee Jay and Les have missed the last couple of meetings due to other commitments and are ready to get down and dirty once again.
Mitch and Rachel have been itching to get back on the track after both making their debuts at Dowerin and are well and truly hooked on dirt.
100% the most excited will be the trio of Dwayne and brothers Kain and Jye who will all be making their debut.
Dwayne is gunna show the oldies ( Rach and Mitch ) how its done.
Kain long time friend of the T man had a novice run in the #28 and within days was chasing a kart π , package deal was found and got a kart for little bro as well.
Unfortunately No Clunes racing this time around with Jordyn having work commitments and Clune Dog still out with a shoulder injury.
Clune Dog still heading up with the team to be pit bitch and help out Jurien Club on the track as a flaggie, starter etc.
Looking forward to a great night of racing and a bourbon or 3 to finish of 2022
Cheers Clune Dog
The heat was on over the weekend both on and off the track at Jurien Bay Kart Club . The temp was over 37 degrees with the wind just as warm. Huge turnout with over 130 karts in the pits . The 1st two heats were during the afternoon heat with all drivers exhausted but excited after finishing. A few hiccups with everyone wanting to win on the 1st lap and causing Kaos in several divisions and creating restart after restart. Rowan felt the brunt and recieving a new nickname from it ( no longer Row Row now he is Roll Roll ) after going over and joining the upside down club. Callan copped a hit after others spinning ,he was shaken but not stirred and able to restart . Potts , Jordyn and Tyson all came through without dramas. The new kid on the block Les came off after the 1st race grinning like the Cheshire Cat and was happy to be in the saddle once again after a long time not racing . Clune Dog on the other hand Not Happy Jan after putting a hole in the piston ( π engine change time ) Once the sun went done and water truck parked for the night as per usual Jurien came alive . The track was smooth and crazy fast . Racing across all divisions was fast and furious with mini battles everywhere you looked no one cared if they were in 2nd place or 15th it was On Like Donkey Kong regardless.. No wins for Team Clune this week but both Roll Roll and Clune Dog finished in 2nd during the night . Jordyn Tyson and Potts all showed great pace all night.Potts was that fast he drove the wheels of his( 4 wheels work better than 3 mate π) Les impressed with getting faster and smoother as he got back into the swing. Big thanks to everyone at the track that help with track prep, flags, pushing etc making it a enjoyable weekend before ,during and after racing .. few more weeks and we will do it all again... πππ
Team Clune Racing have a new recruit heading to Jurien Bay Kart Club this weekend . Bitumen racer Les Morrison has seen the light and realized that bitumen is for getting to the track and Dirt is for racing. Les came for a look at the last Jurien meeting and was so impressed that within days was on the hunt for a kart and to get back into racing after have a few yrs out of the seat . Les will run #151 which was his late fathers race number.
Busy day at Team Clune Racing HQ .couple of additions in the trailer . All loaded ready for Jurien Bay Kart Club on Saturday Night Cheers for the Help Tyson Millard
