Took Josua from Sweden out today and had a great day on the water catching lots of Pike. We even came to the rescue of a Walleye whose eyes were bigger than his stomach. A couple pulls with the pliers and both swam away.

Weather today was cold, windy and rainy but Lake Simcoe Perch fishing was hot.

Last week was a great start to the 2023 season. Got the boat out of storage. Got out Crappie fishing a couple times. Caught a few hard fighting Carp from shore and ended the week, with a trip to Simcoe for some Jumbos. Bring on the 2023 guiding season. #

Had the pleasure of sharing a boat with fellow ProStaffer Jason Greentree for the day. We were out to test 13 Fishing’s new top water bait, the Power Slide Pencil Popper. We were both excited to try this new bait out and man it did not disappoint. The Smallmouth crushed it. Do yourself a favour and put a few of these in your tackle box, you’ll be glad you did.

Love it when the Largies are smashing cranks. Rapala NEW Otts Garage, OG Rocco 5 crankbait. Coming later this year. Fish Eat Them!!!

At one point our boat ramps were closed. Sadly now that they are open we need to deal with this! Yesterday I pulled up to a ramp I use often and was shocked to see the mess left by some people. It looks like they partied & fished all night and left this mess on both sides of the boat ramp. Empty beer bottles, garbage, fishing line, corn cans and food wrappers. Made an open fire and cooked on a metal tray and just left everything. It is a shame that these people could leave this and not respect others. There was an open knife left on the bench as well. Which is very dangerous considering many children play at or near this ramp. Sorry for the rant I was just disgusted with this mess. I even had to get beer bottles out of the ramp. If you see this going on please call the police!

Time to get the Walleye rods all dressed up for Opening Weekend. The Rod Glove protects your rods and keeps them tangle free in the rod locker of your boat.

Trying the new Omen PANFISH/TROUT rods on some giant Jumbos on Lake Simcoe. They are awesome! O
