Smash the Bottle Smash the State We are a hard working street punk band from San Francisco Ca. Here's a little review from NAR NAR of B-LO radio
Smash The State!
So it seems there is a bit of a punk rock revival going in the Bay Area. But I could be wrong, maybe theres always been decent bands lingering around the cruddy clubs and dives since the early 90's. I haven't been in the Bay since the 1990's and there were a grip of bands that would take to the streets of San Francisco just about every weekend and play their hearts out for nothing more than a few
friends and free booze. Bands like the Lowdowns, One Man Army, Workin' Stiffs, The Reducers and more. Its been a while but I will say that I like what Im hearing these days. One of said bands destroying eardrums and kicking balls is San Francisco's Stagger and Fall. S&F have something that has been missing (at least to me) in music these days, and that's passion. Ball stomping songs with gritty vocals that remind me of Bonecrusher and hooks A'hoy!! Im a bit jaded and I don't listen to much new music these days but I have to say this CD is chock full of barnburners. Horseshoes and Hand Grenades and Old Skinhead Song are bag stomping gems and I can only hope that they take the show on the road so they can kick balls across the country. So in closing I just want to say that if you don't make it a point to go see these guys or pick up their CD then you're probably a complete moron and have no appreciation for straight up STREET PUNK with no bells or whistles and just honest hard working PUNX!!!!!
