We heard a good rockhounding friend of ours passed away last week. Rest in peace Bill Quant, you were very inspirational to many of us younger rockhounds, and you will be forever missed. Will always look back on your stories of rock and mining that stretched well into the evenings with a smile. You were an honest and kind individual, like most in the rock community are.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays from our family to yours!

Finally got a decent amount of our velvet obsidian completely finished. Phew, with such a shine this stuff can be pretty difficult to photograph in our limited sunshine!

One thing is certain though, it sure did turn out gorgeous! We think you'll enjoy it as much as we do. It took a while to work out some quirks in our polishing stages with the obsidian, but I think we finally nailed it and have good quality results. We've brought these all the way up to 50,000 grit!
