This past month, entry-level Referee clinics held across the state of Alabama helped introduce 75 new referees in Birmingham, Huntsville and Auburn.

Alabama referee Ethan Wilson has been busy this past summer raising the level of Alabama refereeing, and this past Saturday was no different as he made his USL Championship debut as the 4th Official.

Along with this past weekend's game, Ethan Wilson was also AR1 on the U19 MLS NEXT Cup Final played in Nashville, TN, this past June.

He's also made debuts in the USL League One and the inaugural USL Cup this past summer as he works his way through the professional ranks.

Congratulations on such massive success this past summer and on your league debut this past weekend! Keep it up!

Semi-pro cup final action beckoned in Montgomery, AL this past Saturday. The 2024 Gulf Coast Premier League Cup Final was officiated with two referees from Louisiana joining Alabama referees Dan Jasnowski and Sloan Miller as Alabama FC South hosted Gaffa FC in the championship match.

Gus Sanchez was the referee with Dylan Butter (AR1) and Sloan Miller (AR2) as his assistants and Dan Jasnowski as the 4th Official.

The Alabama Referee Program is elated to announce some new leadership changes in the State Referee Committee, ARAs and a new Director of Referee Development.

Please give a warm welcome to Michael Montgomery as the new Alabama SRA, Tim Barron as the new SDA and Frank Jones as the new SDI forming the new Alabama SRC!

Additionally, Kris Bailey will serve as the Director of Referee Development to serve the needs such as referee education, evaluation, and development.

Lastly, we have 3 new incoming Area Referee Administrators helping serve the areas and its surroundings and the needs of the SRC.

Group play is finished here in Wichita, KS with the knockout rounds beginning today in the 2024 USYS National Presidents Cup!

Semi-pro action continued in Montgomery with the Gulf Coast Premier League playoffs! Alabama FC South hosted Louisiana Krewe from Lafayette, LA, in the quarterfinals.

Mina Kocisova was in charge of the playoff match with Travis Bell and Santiago Garcia as her assistants and Sami Nizam as the fourth official.

Good luck to Alabama's referees working the USYS National Presidents Cup in Wichita, Kansas. Do great work Carlos Aquino and Malik Dahhan!

The 2025 Assignor recertification course is now open and accepting registrations for all referee assignors. If you need to recertify for 2025 and assign referees -- this is your class.

The Digital Referee course for Alabama is now open and accepting registrations. This is for first time referees and those who want to get back into the game who have been away for more than 3 years.

The course is an online course with no in-person requirement. Once you complete the online assignments, your license will be issued and you will then be able to contact assignors in your area to begin receiving game assignments.
