Hello Collectors! I'm still recovering from surgery but wanted to give you an opportunity to adopt one of my 2008 Heart & Sole bears. A collector is downsizing her collection and has listed Cinnamon on eBay. While I always cringe at photos collectors take and wish they'd brushed and fluffed first, this woman (I have no idea who she is by her user name) wrote a fantastic description and I appreciate her for it and her pics. OOAK Brown tipped mohair Artist Teddy Bear Back Road Bears Daphne Blau 12in EUC | eBay She was crafted in May of 2008 as part of her Heart and Sole Series. She is made of brown tipped Schulte kid mohair that is very soft and curly and in perfect condition. She has small German glass black eyes and a big brown stitched nose on a partially shaved snout.

Hello collectors and friends of Back Road Bears! ❤️ It's been a year almost to the day since I last made a bear. Three more hand surgeries, other health challenges and personal circumstances have all prevented me from being able to sew and create my sweet bears. I miss them terribly but I'm not sure I'll ever be able to get back to them. My last surgery was only a month ago and recovery can take up to 6 months so I'm going to do the physical therapy and have patience, hoping I'll be able to return to my beloved bears one of these days. For now I'd love to see photos of the Back Road Bears you've collected over the years. ❤️ Here are just a few of my favorites for you to enjoy.

He is fully jointed and weighted with glass beads. His eyes are hand-blown glass and nose is hand-embroidered. From 19 separate pieces of wild and crazy fur to a silly little bear cub. It's been fun sharing some of the process with you the last couple of days! Progress update... all pinned and sewn together! Next is to attach his limbs and head to the body. This mohair sure is wild. I think it's going to give him oodles of character! 😍

Just finished cutting out pieces for my first bear of 2023. No, you're not seeing double! There are 17 individual pieces here... 2 pieces for each leg, arm, ear and the body and then 3 for his head. Plus there will be two pieces for his foot pads. Now to pin and sew... the fun begins!! 😁

A super dad, retired software developer, Vietnam Veteran (US Navy) and currently navigating many health issues and on kidney dialysis at home.
