A huge thank you to Angie from Open ArtBox CIC for a wonderful day of festive workshops here at The Red Shed! Our folk made felted christmas ornaments using pine cones and miniature christmas tree's using festive foliage, lace and faux fur... and of cause we were just that little bit extra, finishing off with some twinkly fairy lights🎄

Ever seen one of these? It's a butterfly house! We have put it up to provide some shelter for the different varieties of butterflies that visit our garden. We take time to notice them in the summer - it's a great way of being mindful, reducing anxiety and promoting calmness. All positives when you have dementia. ,
We are making the most of the mild temperatures and still planting some seeds at The Red Shed. Today we had some help from pupils from our neighbours - St Vincent de Paul primary school. We sowed Peas, Sweetpeas, Cornflowers, Radish, lettuce and Broad Beans. Looking foward to see what grows! , ,
There's nothing spooky about Halloween at The Red Shed. Just an autumn celebration with lots of fun, creativity, lovely colours and ...... well OK, we did have to have a BIG FAT SPIDER!!

Lovely to welcome members of the Fairview Road Residents Association to The Red Shed for some tea and cake. They have supported us this this year with donations of £2178.06! An amazing amount!... which we are spending on workshops to benefit more local residents who's lives are affected by dementia. Communities helping communities - it's a little bit of magic! , ,
Do you care for someone with dementia? Do you get very annoying scam calls or emails that, frankly, you could do without?
For our Dementia Carers Cafe on 7th November we have some experts visiting us from Age UK. They will have some advice on dealing with these 'scammers'.
Why not pop in for a cuppa and see what tips you can pick up. We welcome both Carers and those who they care for....looking forward to seeing you!!

We're excited at The Red Shed to start our 4th Garden Club session. This means we can now offer our unique service to more people living with dementia and their carers.
It was great to welcome some new folk to the garden along with our new workshop leader Nadine. This is all thanks to the wonderful fundraising by Rebecca and Richard. Following their amazing efforts at a 1/2 Ironman Challenge and a Triathlon we have been able to use all their donations to make a really big difference! https://localgiving.org/charity/theredshedproject/
The Red Shed Project
We are a new organisation, set up in October 2018. We passionately believe in the benefits of gardening for everyone's health and well being. Specifically, we work with people who have been diagnosed with dementia and their carers and families, all of whom are effected by the issues of this disease.
We provide workshops for other organisations around Hertfordshire and we also run a weekly Garden Club in our own garden in Stevenage.
