Guisborough Labour Party
Working for the people of Guisborough.
This is the official page of the Guisborough branch of the Middlesbrough South & East Cleveland Constituency Labour Party.
A pleasure to be invited to Guisborough Methodist this evening to speak about the work I've led on the council to tackle child poverty.
This church, like so many in our area, has a real determination to help people with the cost of living crisis & make life fairer for people.
Please listen and have your input. There are a lot of people that are being diagnosed with autism or awaiting a diagnosis. 👩🏻⚕️
Thanks to Cllr Lisa Belshaw for Guisborough for her passion around autism to help shape the services. 🗣️
This is what our councillors stand for, everyday issues that affect you. 🌹
A very special evening listening to Guisborough Choral Society & Highcliffe Primary School Christmas Concert at Guisborough Methodist ❄️🎄
In addition to wonderful carols from the children & members, they also raised money for Friends of Murambinda, a charity co-founded by a local Parkway Medical Centre GP.
We're out in all weathers! 🌧 Great to speak to residents in Hutton today on the . 🌹
Across our communities, people are ready for change.
Work to start on Bakehouse Square on 11th Dec for a period of approximately 20 weeks

Out and about on the door steps this weekend 🗣️
So many people fed up with the current government and our current MP!
They want changes, they want Labour as it’s been 13 long Tory years 🌹
Our councillors Cllr Lisa Belshaw for Guisborough and Cllr Bill Suthers for Guisborough have organised for you to come and have your say about the Guisborough levelling up fund and to speak with officers about it at Guisborough library on Tuesday 24th October between 2:30pm and 6pm.
They will answer any questions you have.
As councillors in the heart of Guisborough where much of the levelling up fund will be invested. Cllr Bill Suthers for Guisborough and myself are regularly contacted by residents from within the ward as well as the rest of Guisborough. 📞
Whilst residents welcome the investment they are also keen to have their questions answered and voices heard. 🗣️
We welcome the councils earlier announcement about a new website for Guisborough levelling up and the news that a survey will follow shortly. 💻
However we are also keen the residents have a face to face discussion with officers about the project. With that in mind we have requested and arranged a drop in session on Tuesday 24th October at 2:30pm till 6pm at Guisborough library. 📚
Information will be available about the project and officers will be available to answer questions. We have liaised with our fellow ward councillor Bill Clarke who supports this initiative. ℹ️
The drop in is open to all residents from Guisborough, Belmont and Hutton wards. Please call in to find out more. 👋
Out today in the glorious weather with Cllr Bill Suthers for Guisborough on behalf of him and Cllr Lisa Belshaw for Guisborough finding out if any residents have any issues in the Ward 💪🏻🌹
For those that may have missed us or have any concerns, you can get in touch with the councillors on their emails or attend a Ward surgery 🗓️
Thanks for those that spoke to us on the doorsteps 🗣️ The sun was certainly shining ☀️
A special shout out to Cllr.Linda White Loftus Ward who brought her granddaughter along!
As well as our other councillors and activists who want to get Britains future back 🇬🇧
The Tories crashed the economy and you’re still paying the price.
Lots of conversations on the door step with people really interested in hearing what a Labour Government would offer 🌹
Life long Tory’s stating they won’t vote for a Conservative government again 💪🏻
Remember this when the next general election happens 🗳️
Your local MP Simon Clarke backed Liz Truss till the end! If he backs a higher cost of living with the country how can you trust him fighting for the local area!
In the next election put a X in the box next to Labour 🌹
One year since your MP Simon Clarke backed Truss and wrecked the economy! 📉
For a government who will take the economy seriously mark your X in the box next to Labour at the next general election 🗳️
We need change, we need a serious government, we need Labour 🌹
Some local volunteers that Cllr Lisa Belshaw for Guisborough and Cllr Bill Suthers for Guisborough have been working with donated some of their time, energy and plants over the summer to brighten up this area 🌺🌼
What a wonderful job they have made! 👏
And a big shout out and and thanks to the staff from Guisborough Swim and Fitness Centre who are helping with the watering of these plants and upkeep of the area 💦🧹
Community, volunteers and businesses pulling together to improve our town is wonderful to see⭐️❤️
Happy colleagues tidying up the beautiful flowerbeds, that welcome our customers to the centre 🌸
Summer is still here ☀️🎉
Why not come for a swim to cool down 🏊🏻♂️

The same story of people being sick of the Tory government 🌳
We need change, we need a Labour government 🌹
Our councillors working hard for OUR community 🙌🏻
Happy 75th Birthday NHS 🥳
Our greatest achievement as a Labour government 🌹

Due to the TVCA Mayor, Ben Houchen, reducing the subsidies to bus operators within the Tees Valley the communities who rely & depend on bus services the most face drastic reductions in timetables.
Arriva proposes to reduce or cease many services in East Cleveland & areas in the south of Middlebrough, all because Mr Houchen sees fit to reduce funding whilst at the same time propping up a loss making airport.
Our communities have far more need for an effective public transport system than they do for an underused airport, it shouldn’t need to be the case. Investment in public transportation is crucial for the economic growth of the area & services should be increased not reduced.
In an area where car ownership is lower than the national average people are reliant on these services. Arriva have been pushed into these measures by Mr Houchen without any reference or consultation with communities & user groups & these proposals need reconsidering.
Just to clarify it was the last Independent run council that made the decision to increase charges at the Guisborough Walkway from £1 to £2.20p. Not the new Labour led Council
Me and Cllr Bill Suthers for Guisborough were furious to hear this previous decision was to be implemented without any consultation with us
There have been some lengthy and heated discussions over the last few days and as a result we are pleased to announce that these increases will not go ahead
We need to ensure that people are encouraged to come and support our wonderful town and we promise to always work hard to make that happen
They don’t care about us and whether we can pay our bills or not!
They are happy for us to suffer with our mortgages and the cost of living.
We need change now! We need a Labour government 🌹
We continue to feel these costs in our pockets 💷
We need changes, we need a Labour government 🌹
Out and about listening to your concerns on the doorstep in this gorgeous weather 🗣️
People want change, residents want a Labour government 🌹
🏠 *Tory mortgage penalty* 🏠
The Tory mortgage penalty means working families across the country are paying thousands of pounds more.
It’s clear the Tories have no plan to clean up the mess they created.
We need a government that care for everyone, we need a Labour government 🌹
🐶 *The Tories have given a green light to puppy farms* 😔
Yesterday, Tory MPs blocked Labour’s motion to bring back the Kept Animals Bill having promised voters at the last election they would deliver it. 😫
By doing this they have just given the green light to puppy smugglers and dog thieves, showing whose side they are on.
