Spent the night working on the truck and reflecting on things. No one ever said this sport was easy - emotionally, mentally, or physically. So far this season has tested us in every way possible. Regardless I wake up every morning thankful for the opportunity to do this and for all the support I have that continues to get me here from my amazing sponsors, family, friends and fans. We haven’t been getting the results we know we’re capable of, but we’re far from finished and more determined than ever to keep pushing. Here’s to working our asses off 👊🏼
Pro Lite flag drops at 4:15pm local time.

Antigo Recap -

Practice and qualifying on Friday we had mechanical issues. Fought them all weekend. Did our best with the issues we were fighting in the truck. Worked to change many parts and get to the root of the problem. Fell victim to a first lap carnage which led to a punctured tire and after a quick pit came back at the rear of the pack. Ended up 7th for the day. Just continued to fight mechanicals. Sunday started 10th and worked our way up to third at one point. Driver miscalculation resulted in a roll but was able to continue and finish in sixth place On six cylinders. Currently fifth in points going into rounds five and six. Huge thank you to Team Kenda and everyone that supports me.

We are currently in the shop every day pushing to get the issues with the truck resolved and to get us back on the box.

Well the first round didn’t go as planned but with so many changes to the truck I shouldn’t have expected to be perfect. I just wasn’t comfortable the whole weekend with some setup and that showed in my results. We are going to get it figured out with some testing and we will be back to battle come Antigo. Huge thanks to all my sponsors, family and friends that continue to support me.

Secrets out…. We’re back baby 😎
Huge thank you to Kenda Motorsports for the opportunity! Here’s to a killer 2024 season 🏁

Introducing our NEW 2024 Kenda Tires Sponsored Pro-Lite Driver… #36 MATT WOOD!! Welcome to the Kenda Team Matt!!

DRIVER NAME: Matt Wood
IG:
HOMETOWN: Ishpeming, MI
CURRENT RESIDENCE: Champion, MI
RACE VEHICLE: #36 Pro Lite
SPONSORS: Kenda Tire, Woody’s Auto, Balco Balancing, Harris Auto Parts, Meru Safety, WR Performance
10 QUESTIONS:
How did you get started in off-road racing? My parents would bring me to the Crandon and Bark River races, never missing a race. When the SXS classes were introduced in 2018, I saw an opportunity to get myself onto the track.
Tell us about your hobbies: I enjoy spending time with my three year old son, family and friends. You can usually find me outdoors either hunting, fishing, racing or traveling.
What’s the most embarrassing mistake you’ve made on the track that you’re comfortable sharing with us? 2022 Crandon Brush Run. I ran P2 all race, then on the last lap decided to throw it in on the leader in the gravel pit turn and spun out, then followed it up in the final corner with another spin... rookie mistake. It left an impression on me for sure.
Are you an iPhone person or an Android person, and why? iPhone for sure, they’ve always been my phone of choice and seem easier to use.
What’s the inspiration behind your racing number and if you win the championship are you going to run your number or #1? I decided to pick my number (36) after my original number 19 was already in use. I chose 36 because of the great late Rick Huesman, he was an incredible race car driver and someone I always looked up to. If I won the Championship I would run #1. I’d want everyone to look at our truck and say “that’s who we have to beat”.
Your favorite food? A big juicy steak.
What is your favorite track? I’d have to say my favorite track is Crandon. You can’t beat the atmosphere with the fans, and it’s the home of short course off-road.
What would your walk on music be? Hells Bells by AC/DC
What’s been your favorite moment of your career so far? Favorite moment would have to be my first Pro Lite podium at Dirt City in 2022. There’s no better feeling than the first podium.
One word that best describes Kenda Tires to you? Dependable
