University of Florida Bass Fishing Club

Thank you to the 15 boats who came out to fish the Cast for Kids fundraiser yesterday on Orange Lake! Here’s the results:

1st - Tyler and Darryl: 34.86lbs and 10.75lb Big Fish
2nd - Michael and Brandon - 28.35lbs
3rd - Tony and Brian - 25.40lbs

Just a reminder that our next tournament will be April 6th on the Harris Chain out of Buzzard Beach!

The UF Bass Fishing Club will be hosting an open fundraiser tournament on March 23rd at Orange Lake. 25% of total entry fees will be donated to the CAST for Kids Foundation, so come on out and support a good cause!

The UF and UCF Bass Fishing Clubs have partnered up to host a tournament on the Harris Chain of Lakes on April 6th!

Bring your family and friends and come support the teams as we raise funds for our college fishing endeavors!

Registration will be the morning of at the Buzzard Beach boat ramp, and launch will be at first light. The tournament entry fee is $100 with a 70% payout, and an optional $20 big fish that is 100% pay out. We will be paying out every 1 in 7 boats.

The University of Florida Bass Fishing Club hosted our fundraiser tournament on Lake Toho this past Saturday, and the lake showed out!

Huge thank you to Anthony Gaskins of AGs Backbone Baits for hooking the team up with some of his baits! Another huge thank you to Mark Lundgren of Amera Trail Custom Trailers for supplying a set of trim blinkers for our boats!

We appreciate everyone who came out to support the team, and look forward to seeing everyone again at our next and final tournament of the year on Orange Lake on December 2nd!

The first FBN College Trail Tournament is in the books for the Harris Chain! With changing conditions our two teams were still able to put together a respectable limit for both days.

Team of and had a 5th place finish and the team of and had a 6th place finish, giving them both good points in the trail. Our next tournament is on Lake Seminole and we look forward to it!

Come out this Saturday and support the Gator Bass Club at the Harris Chain! Perfect opportunity for high school anglers wanting to get a little practice in before next weekends tournament while helping out then team! Open to anyone. Pay at ramp morning of tournament.

This past week, members of the team and were invited to represent The University of Florida Fishing Team at the Bassmaster High school Combine! We are very honored to have had the opportunity to talk to some of the best anglers who are wanting to extend their academic and athletic careers at the University of Florida!

Our members gave these anglers information about our program and the competitive nature we carry across the country, along with information on the University and incredible academics it offers

Overall, the future is bright for college fishing and is bright for our program, hoping to have drawn interest and the potential for new recruits, it’s always important to remember that it’s great to be a 🐊 🎣

Not the finish the Gator Bassmasters we’re hoping for at the College National Championship, but super grateful for an awesome season and for everyone who supported us along the way!

The BASS College Tournament on the Red River may have thrown some curve balls but the entire UF Bass team managed to make it out in one piece! After putting up some decent bags the team was able to secure a 15th and 26th place finish in the team of the year points standings!

The UF Bass team made the long haul to Virginia for the BASS College tournament to see what the James river had to offer! After 4 days of practice the boys were able to put together a good set of bags gaining valuable points for the team!! Next stop is the Red River in Louisiana where we are looking to finish the season strong!

Orange Lake produced another set of giant bags for our fundraiser tournament. There were two bags over 30 and 4 bass over 10 caught! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the club!

The University of Florida had a great start to the series with both competing team’s qualifying for the national championship! + placed 3rd place with a two day total of 44lbs 4oz! + brought home a 23rd with a two day total of 33lbs 10oz!! Congratulations to all the teams that competed and we look forward to meeting again at Cherokee Reservoir! •
