COGNETIX Weekly Mechanical Design Lecture (with Q&A) 10/11/2017

Would you like to gain ■■ MECHANICAL DESIGN EXPERIENCE ■■ in a short amount of time, without quitting your day job? We may have a perfect opportunity for you (or a colleague of yours). Read on.

Since we launched the academy, we have grown much more aware of how our engineering and design community wants to get involved in design, but often runs into the issue of not having sufficient or adequate "design experience" on their resume. This leads a large portion of our colleagues to be stuck in non-design roles, probably for their entire careers. Sound familiar?

We are about to try something very special and unique:

■■ Would you like to be a part of a PRODUCT DESIGN TEAM with Cognetix Engineering, Inc.? ■■

This is what we have in mind:

You can participate as a DESIGN ENGINEER (through a mentoring program) for one or two of our real life projects.
This is a short term commitment, designed to work around your job and life schedule.
If you are local to California (U.S.), in the Los Angeles, Ventura County, or nearby areas, you can join us in person (weekends, perhaps evenings, etc. Schedule to be determined). Otherwise, you will have extensive, world-wide remote access to the project, design files, meetings, etc.
Yes, whether you participate in person or remotely, you will be assigned portions of the product design that you'll be responsible for (and professionally coached through).
The project will include project management aspects, real-life prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting, conversion from prototype to mass-producible product, etc.
We are working on setting up access to a powerful CAD platform (which very closely resembles SolidWorks).
The development of these products is confidential, owned by Cognetix Engineering, Inc., and you will need to sign an NDA (legally-binding non-disclosure agreement).
Cognetix Engineering, Inc. may pursue patents for these confidential product inventions. If you happen to make design contributions that end up being patentable, you would likely be listed as an inventor.
Your successful participation may lead to a professional reference by Cognetix Engineering, Inc. and/or a letter of recommendation.
We are also strongly considering launching these innovative products into the market place through Kickstarter, Indiegogo or a similar crowdfunding platform!!! You would be involved every step of the way.
So, if you are already happily involved in design and have no issue getting such job or internship opportunities, good for you and we congratulate you! Otherwise, if you find, like many, that you need or want to get real-life design experience on your resume, but you are stuck because you lack "design experience", join us this Saturday, 11/11 (1:30 PM, Pacific Time), to learn the details about this unique opportunity, help us figure out some aspects, and ask us questions!

(This will be this week's Mechanical Design Weekly Series topic. Scroll down for the free registration, if you're not already registered.)

■■ These are real life product development projects that you will be professionally involved in! ■■

We are very excited about the possibilities, but we need to hear from you. (See below if you are not yet registered for this FREE lecture series.)

Take care and we hope to see you soon!
