BHN is committed to providing a safe environment so clients can receive needed services such as HIV testing, referrals for screening, counseling and more!
Interfaith Medical Center was awarded a SAMHSA (Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration) grant to create a Behavioral Health Navigation (BHN) program in the fall of 2015. The program is a part of the hospital's Primary Care Clinic and serves a large African-American and Caribbean community of Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights. This community is disproportionately impacted by various socio
economic barriers including HIV, Hepatitis C and mental health issues. The BHN program's goals and services seek to prevent or improve the impact these health issues have on our community. Our services are provided free of cost in a confidential, supportive and welcoming manner by professional staff that includes case managers and licensed counselors. These services include screenings for HIV and Hepatitis C, short-term counseling and case management with the goal of empowering our participants to make choices that can lead to healthier lives. Behavioral Health Navigation is located at 880 Bergen St, Brooklyn, NY 11238 which is convenient to various forms of mass transit.
