After more than a decade of living out my collegiate dream of getting a real job and doing well at it — it’s time for a break. Y’all know I’m good for a sabbatical. This one’s just a little longer. I am very content with this decision and I plan to use this free time for radical rest, self-improvement, and of course wedding planning. I’m excited to hang out with the people I love without having to take PTO and stay with them longer than just a weekend. I have dedicated my life to my career, sometimes at my detriment. But when an opportunity came to walk away, I couldn’t say no. I’m grateful for my time in Cincy and I’ll still be around! I can’t wait to explore now that I have more time. What’s next? Who knows? Because at the end of the day, the day gotta end. ♥️

Here's what covering Hurricane Idalia was like for me. I was sent to Steinhatchee before the storm and then hunkered down in Perry (that's where my mommy's from!) when Idalia made landfall...pretty much right on top of the town.

Hey family, I’m packing my bags for Florida to help our sister station with Idalia coverage. I’ll be in the Big Bend area and more than likely Taylor County, where they’re expecting up to 11 feet of storm surge. I’ll be doing my best to stay safe and keep people informed. Do your part by preparing. You can hide from the wind, but you’ve got to run from the water. Get your evacuation plans ready.

The story of John W Anderson’s slave pen is one I get to tell on a weekly basis. It’s an honor to be a docent at the . After days of studying historical facts and artistic interpretations, I’m almost done mastering the 2nd floor! If you haven’t been here yet, you should visit!

Pro tip: It’s not the best idea to go to Taste of Cincinnati a couple hours before work. Evan and I struggled to stay alert because we were in a food coma!

After 8 years of being in between two pieces of cardboard, I finally had the vision (and cash) to frame this picture in a place it deserved. Anne McQuary gave me this photo she took entitled “Martin & Rosa” when I left my first job at WLTX. Rumor has it the bigger the picture, the more she liked you. As you can see, Anne and I were good lol. I miss the people in that newsroom but I’ll always have this to remember them by. Thanks Anne!

Had a blast in NYC this weekend! Honored to impart some wisdom on social media and mental health at two panels for Emerging Journalist summit! There are some bright futures ahead for these young journalists. It was also great seeing people I consider my broadcast family!

Went down to for a perfect thank you gift for one of our coworkers! The employees were so helpful and I’m definitely excited to go back for a few sips and dips 🫧

Can’t tell y’all to go support Black businesses in the Tri-State if I’m not! First stop, 6 ‘N The Mornin’! Owned by the Good Bruhz and an Florida State Alum specializing in southern breakfast. I got a red velvet waffle + chicken and a side of cheese grits. All very good. Def coming back for the shrimp + grits, the French toast, and the catfish + grits! Be warned, this is a hot spot so call ahead and order or be prepared to wait! Luckily, the staff made it easy. They were very nice and accommodating!
