Aspiring new artist hoping to create and sell oil paintings of Tasmania's beautiful scenery, as well as original artworks.
How it All Started
At the start of 2017, I decided,
“Why the hell not? I’m a big Bob Ross fan.”
I went to my nearest art supplies shop and bought a small collection of paints, brushes, turpentine and canvases, headed on home and began to follow along with Ross’ “The Joy of Painting” series.
Since then, I realised just how relaxing and satisfying it was to not only watch Bob Ross paint, but how enjoyable it was to paint along to his teachings and methods applied to the Alla Prima (wet-on-wet) painting technique.
I very quickly grew fond of this new hobby, creating paintings as often as I could in my free time, following along to more and more of Ross’ videos online, as well as just laying a brush or knife to canvas and painting whatever image came into my mind.
Fast forward to January 2018.
I was given the idea that while practicing and creating paintings influenced by Ross’ demonstrations, I should attempt to paint local scenery and landscapes.
I had a look for a reference image and began to follow this idea. Not long after this, I had painted Tasmania’s Bay of Fires.
