Join us this Saturday at FJH for the DPISD STEM Showcase! There are 8 DPE Robotics teams competing as well!
After a grueling 9 rounds, with over 150 words read, we have our champions of the DPE Spelling Bee!
Congratulations to Abram B., who defended his title of DPE champion with the word thorax, and Sadie L., who finished as the runner up! Both will move on to represent DPE at the DPISD spelling bee in January!
Officer Zheng visited the DPE library as part of the Rolling Readers program. She read Bear Stays Up for Christmas to Mrs. Sample's kindergarten class!

Fifth grade has still been able to build snowmen today!
Second grade is having a winter STEM day!
Every teacher planned a different STEM activity and students are rotating through the different areas to fix Frosty's sled, build a house for an elf, design a present drop for Santa and so much more!
The Bikes are ready to ride! A big thanks to the Deer Park Education Foundation for funding Mrs. Rivera's grant to purchase our new library bikes!
The DPE Winter Book Fair is underway and we are having a great time!
The book fair will be available until Friday at 11am.

Second graders are learning about the different types of community jobs and their responsibilities. Students were able to choose their career, create a hat, and list the different duties they are responsible for!

Kindergarteners enjoyed homemade apple sauce today after learning about Johnny Appleseed all week!
The DPE Library had a guest reader today for Constitution Day! Mr. John Torigian from the Houston Bar Association came and spoke to our first graders about the Constitution and the importance of voting!
Fifth graders are learning about different types of mixtures today! After making their trail mix and their Kool-Aid, they recorded a Chatterpix explaining the differences and similarities between the two!
Happy slide day! The News Crew can't wait to meet all the new members of their houses!
