We recently sent a group of six to a Rocky Mountain Region 8 - Sweet Adelines Small Chorus Summit and came home with heads full of big ideas on how to improve our Chorus Culture. Our whole chorus is ready to take on the challenge of "Belongingness". Day 3 of the Small Chorus Summit had even more education! A HUGE thank you to Melynnie Williams for sharing her membership and retention knowledge, all Region 8 Faculty who shared their knowledge with us, the Region 8 RMT, and a special thank you to all of our attendees!

We had tons of fun on Day 2 of the Small Chorus Summit! There was education, singing, and meeting new friends!

We are starting strong on Day 2 of the Small Chorus Summit! We started with warmups by Anna-Lisa Glad and Julie Palagi, we learned how to support a culture of success with Melynnie Williams, and are ending the morning block with sectionals on You've Got a Friend in Me!

Calling all Rock Stars, Divas and Stellar Performers:

Zany, fun, and wildly entertaining! For years, Region 8’s very own Very Light Opera Company quartet set the standard with their over-the-top sets, costumes, and song parodies. With VLOC as an inspiration, we invite you to let your creative flags fly in the Very Light Double Quartet Contest, hosted by Deja Vu!

Wow us with an entertaining song, parody (whether through lyrics and/or presentation), costuming, props, the sky’s the limit! Parodies are not mandatory, but having fun (VLOC style) absolutely is!

Gather 5-8 friends, put together one fabulous song, and be ready to compete on Saturday night! All songs/parody lyrics must be cleared through the SAT. Can’t wait to see you there!

North by Northwest Region 13 Sweet Adelines shared some information regarding the Celebration of Life for Nancy Kurth. Nancy was a member and leader in Region 8 for many years.

The Celebration of Life for Nancy Kurth is scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 1:00-4:00 pm, at the Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel, 8235 Northeast Airport Way, Portland, Oregon.
