Happy Birthday to my friend and awesome vocalist Billy Kashner.
Billy has been “The Voice” of UO since the band began. Billy is now leaving the state with his lovely wife Nina and going to Virginia to be closer to his kids and grandkids. I met Billy over 20 years ago and knew the first time I heard him sing that I would start and band with him. We did, it was called Decades and lasted a couple years, but he had to go back on the road driving trucks. This did not prevent us from singing and performing together, as I then started making tracks of cover tunes and we started a duo called twisted minds, using tracks, and me switching to guitar instead of bass.
That lasted awhile, but we missed the band thing so we got together With James Wood and Jesse Littrel and Roger Bezansky formed UO. We have had to add different players (Steve Gaynor, and John Trujillo took over the drum duties, Sam Girardi, and currently Raoul Ranoa, on guitars, Nina also joined us on vocals for a bit)over the years but Billy and I have been the constant. I am going to miss my brother Billy real bad, and this band UO cannot exist without him. So I am here to say Happy Birthday to Billy Kashner, safe travels to Virginia, I hope to sing with you again my brother. Love you
To all the friends and fans of UO I will keep the page up because there are pics and videos on it that will show up in memories that will post from time to time.
We thank you for the support over the years
