On this day in 1991, Tesla released their third studio album, PSYCHOTIC SUPPER. Often referred to as the final installment of the band's sacred trilogy, the album left little doubt as to whether or not their blues-infused style of rock could persevere in the face of grunge. And despite hitting the shelves in the same year that Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden all had major breakthroughs, Tesla's fans remained loyal enough for Psychotic Supper to earn a gold certification in less than two months, peaking at #13 on the Billboard 200 in the process (it was eventually certified platinum in 1993). Not to mention, it contains two of the greatest tracks that the band ever recorded -- "Edison's Medicine" and "Song & Emotion" -- the latter of which was written as a tribute to their fallen friend, Steve "Steamin" Clark.
