This little lady has given all of us a lot of☝🏽ups and downs👇🏽 this past week! Between setting the trap 🪤, using a drone 🚁 in the dead of night to locate her and watching her dance 💃🏻 around the trail camera 🎥 set up to alert us to her presence and A LOT of help from Joy (she’s amazing! She set the trap and worked diligently to make sure Rue was safe💜) with Healing Hearts Rehab and some other amazing human beings, Rue is once again safe and in the care of her amazing foster. It took a lot of trust for this little girl to let herself be caught again but we hope with time and patience she can become the snuggle bug she so desperately wants to be. This girl is still going to need a thorough checkup and vaccinated as well as spayed as soon as she’s a little more trusting of humans!

No donation amount is to small and every single penny makes a difference in the life of Rue and dogs 🐕 🐕🦺🐩 exactly like her. 🚨DONATIONS NEEDED🚨
Up date! Miss Rue was safely trapped last night. She was slightly uncomfortable but a complete sweetheart!💕 early this morning her well meaning foster let her out to potty and she managed to clear the fence off the side of the the fosters pool! We have eyes on her and will attempt to trap her once again tomorrow evening.
Hello Village! It has been a long eventful year with our Poundpup Staff 🐾💜 having some serious health issues 🤕🤒 but rest assured, we are now back to our regularly scheduled program!
We were alerted last weekend by another amazing rescue to a this sweet girl living in a Salado field. The neighbors have no idea where she came from and have affectionately named her Rue. 💕. The neighbors said that she seems super gentle with wildlife and has an easy going nature but appears a little scared of humans though they have rallied around her and fed her here and there. With the safe trapping of this beautiful girl will come vet bills! She has a mass on her chest and what looks to be diarrhea and will need vet care as soon as we can provide it.
We are aware that we have been closed for business for a while but we are praying our village is still with us! This girl deserves the best we can give her and we won’t give up on her until she’s safe in the hands of people who will show her all the love she deserves! Her salvation starts with us! If you could please find it in your heart or even in your couch cushions, any amount of donation helps! Every penny 💰 counts! As always, our Village is what sustains us! 💕🐾💕🙏🏼

Despite the missing eye, I am looking all over for my forever family to find me! Beats hanging out with this guy! All he does is sing. Badly. Hello Village,
Many of you have probably noticed that we have been quiet and absent for quite a while.
The last year was very hard on us in our private lives and we needed a break (we of course were and still are taking care of the many dogs in our little rescue)
With that said, we are back 🙂

Hello Village! We’re here at Cleo Bay Subaru with some of our amazing adoptables! Come down and join us! Cleo Bay is running an amazing donation event here as well! They have hot dogs and a bounce house for the kids and amazing deals on cars! It’s getting to be the time of year where blankets and towels become super important to rescues, as well as we can always always always use dog food! This year has been super hard on everyone and Subaru wants to help lighten our load! 🐾💕 This year Cleo Bay Subaru has asked us to partner with them for their annual Subaru loves pets month! The entire month of October, Subaru will donate 100$ for every adoption done in this month. We will also be attending the Subaru loves pets event on October 21st at Cleo Bay Subaru! We are collecting donations as well as bringing out our adorable adoptables for the event! Our very own Beeper will even have his very own kissing💋booth! Over the last several months we’ve take in 28 dogs and we are in need of dog food 🙏
We try our hardest to only ask for donations when absolutely needed and with the new additions we do have to ask our village for help.

🚨FOSTERS NEEDED🚨
Shelters and rescues are all so overwhelmed with the number of dogs 🐩🐕🐕🦺🦮 they have that the only choice we have is to pray 🙏🏼 that fosters step up. Fosters are the 🚑 life saving tool rescues use in order to keep fighting the overwhelming numbers of stray or abandoned animals we have seen this year 🐾🐾 . Please know that without people 🙋🏻🙋🏻♀️willing to step up and help us help them, the outcome for some of these babies will not be a good one.
Edith: miss Edith is a beautiful wire haired girl who loves all people and other dogs. She is kennel and house trained and does great with kids and anyone willing to love on her or play with her. She loves to cuddle in bed and she squeaky toys are life.

Morris: who can resist a smiling poodle? Morris is the total package! He’s super sweet and funny! Playful and cuddly and loves treat-o time. He’s also house and kennel trained!
Chucky: this little man is a stage 5 clinger! He will follow you everywhere. He will protect you with his tiny life and huge heart! He loves to give kisses and just be on my lap or snuggled up under the blankets. He is also house and kennel trained though you may here some complaints for the first few minutes of his incarceration. 😂

Meet Winston! He found himself in the shelter and with ears 👂 that magnificent and a face that sweet we couldn’t bare to leave him there! This guy will do super well in a home with other dogs. He’s very very social and loves to play and cuddle. He can not live with cats or small animals. He does well with humans of all sizes and he is kennel and house trained. Placing Winston is urgent. Shelters and rescues alike are slammed full and without fosters, we cannot continue to ease the pressure or save the lives of those who would otherwise me a nasty fate. 🐾💕🐾 Every single foster we can get is a life saved.

🚨 DONATIONS NEEDED🚨
As you all know, we aren’t just a lover of dogs. We’re lovers of all animals in need. Meet our two newest rescues! 🦜🦜 These boys are bow legged and have issues using a perch! These poor boys have been left to struggle at the bottom of their wire cage with nothing to pad them and they’re legs will not hold them up. We are looking for items for their cage to assist in making them more comfortable. Our funds have never been lower do to economic stress and we refuse to give up. These boys deserve better than this barren cage with no comfort.
We are looking for thin perches, toys and possible small Guinea pig type beds (small and soft) for the bottom of their cage. We will also need to purchase food for them as well as fund a trip to the vet to ensure their health and well being.
Without a doubt, we know we can always rely on our village to insure the helpless receive the help they need. 💕Without the animal lovers 🩵💙 who assist us in aiding ❤️🩹animals who desperately need it, there would be no Poundpup.

Our Story
PoundPup originated in 2010, when our founder went to the local “pound” to pick up Polly (that’s her stray photo from the shelter website). Polly was apparently deaf and blind, and had mange. Her prognosis did not seem to be very good, and shelter staff released her free of charge, in hopes that she may have a few good days in a loving home. Many medical treatments later, Polly emerged healthy and very spunky. This is when PoundPup and Friends founder, Liz Rainey, realized that with proper funding, we could probably save a lot more animals from going to the pound, or getting adopted out of the shelter.
An idea was born, but lack of funding soon stopped the program. But the idea lingered in Liz’s head, and on August 17, 2017, she filed the necessary paperwork to get PoundPup and Friends Initiative formally registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
We want to assist displaced, stray or unwanted pet animals in an effort to keep them out of shelters and avoid euthanasia or exposure to dangerous elements, human or natural.
