Elsipogtog hydrant flushing, April 25

AFNWA will be flushing system hydrants on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Elsipogtog residents may experience temporary variations in water pressure and potential water discolouration during this time.

We strongly advise against consuming or using discoloured water, if observed. Instead, continue running the taps until water returns to its normal clarity before consumption.

We appreciate your understanding as we provide necessary service maintenance. Please share this message with community members who may not have access to social media. Updates will be shared on this page.

Please be advised that the Elsipogtog First Nation Band Office is embarking on an innovative pilot project from April 2024 to March 2025, implementing a 4-day work week, Monday to Thursday, with operating hours from 9 am to 4 pm.

The primary goal of the 4-day work week is to enhance work-life balance for frontline employees. By compressing the work week into four days, employees can enjoy longer weekends, providing them with more leisure time to spend with family and engage in personal activities. This approach promotes employee well-being and can contribute to reduced stress levels and increased job satisfaction.

Furthermore, the 4-day work week has the potential to improve productivity and efficiency. Research suggests that shorter work weeks can lead to increased focus and concentration during working hours, allowing employees to accomplish tasks more effectively. By maximizing work hours and minimizing distractions, the Band Office aims to optimize productivity and achieve better outcomes.

Additionally, the reduced work week may have positive environmental impacts. With one less day of commuting, there will be a decrease in carbon emissions and traffic congestion. This aligns with the Band Office's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

By implementing this pilot project, the Elsipogtog First Nation Band Office demonstrates its commitment to the well-being of its employees, boosting morale and job satisfaction. Furthermore, the 4-day workweek aligns with their values of work-life balance and sustainability. This innovative approach has the potential to set a positive example for other organizations and communities seeking to improve employee satisfaction and productivity while considering environmental impacts.
