New visions in branding design, business identity and eye-catching illustration and photography
Ready to roll this rOctober…😎
Due to an editing error on this months’ newsletter, we misidentified our featured artist Nancy Sterling. Our apologies for the error.
”Allium Abuzz” is my latest color pencil illustration completed, and will be on display at Art du Jour Gallery bee-gining this week. 😎
Awesome August 😎
Been a while since I’ve attempted a landscape, so I decided to make it a seascape from my hometown. The Santa Cruz Surfing Museum occupies the picturesque lighthouse that overlooks the popular steamers lane along West Cliff Dr..
Have a couple of random illustrations on the drawing board nearing completion. Decided it was time to open up a new can of pencils. 😎
Chill out this summer.
Allium with a twist. 😎
See our summer changeout. If you haven’t been in lately it’s changed…
Make a day at AdJ in May
Had an hour or so without anything to do in Cambria, CA, so I grabbed the camera and tried to make the most of the moment. The big purple Pride of Madeira along the road caught my eye. It was still a bit too early to catch the super bloom that we imagine will be spectacular this year. Felt good to see the Golden State looking so green and the reservoirs filling up.
Aprils’ offering
Another month in the books…
Dazzling detail in nature’s design.
Did a pre-change out while hosting at AdJ gallery this weekend. It’s somewhat of a tradition… 😎 We’ll see where we land once the actual change-out takes place on Feb 25th.
Art in the Heart of downtown Medford…
It’s often been anticipated that a few artists may leave after the holidays. This year has been worse than usual. Hoping to see some new prospects soon! 😎
Been digging into the archives. We plan to make a trip south in 2023 and hope to make a few stops along the way for a change. Merry Christmas to all… and be blessed in your journey. 🥹
We need to schedule Rod Petrone for a video session without any background noise. He’s become a regular at AdJ and is always welcome in our house ANY 3rd Friday.
Just a glimpse at what we’re offering. Third Friday is coming soon… 🧐
Valuable public wall space! We accept their gracious offer. 😎
Our neighbors at Solid Ground Coffee & Tea offered some wall space and we accepted. Now our friends have a place to enjoy a cup of java either before or after a visit. Open on Third Friday as well…
AdJ’s November newsletter delayed. We’ll be back on track next month. 😎
I doubt that we could ever get tired of visiting this special place on the Oregon coast. 😎
After thoughtful deliberation on Monday the Art du Jour board voted for a name change for The Salon into “The Art Vault”. Come help us celebrate during the Medford Art Walk on Third Friday (10/21). 😎
The October part of our exhibit “World in Perspective” partially pays tribute to Hispanic Appreciation Month, with one wall devoted to some favorite B&W photographs documenting farm workers In Washington’s Yakima Valley. I am honored to share the stage with Thalia Keple for this multi-culturally themed two-month showing at Art du Jour Gallery.
“Autumn” at Art du Jour and “World in Perspective” is our October offering. Feeling grateful to have this opportunity.
Been looking forward to this dual exhibit with fellow artist Thalia Keple with great anticipation. 😎
An old friend and former colleague Kirk Hirota recently captured a really cool photo of a dragonfly. Immedeatly I seized the moment and asked permission to illustrate the image, which he graciously granted. Hoping to have this one on the wall at Art du Jour in October.
Transitioning into autumn. 😎
Just went on the market!
Came to my attention from one of my fellow AdJ artists that we got some newspaper ink last week. Brings back a lot of good memories… but I’m not quite sure what to do with a tearsheet anymore. 😎
Art du Jour is like an oasis downtown. Hoping our FB friends check it out sometime. Always something new! 😎
My latest artpiece seems to fit in well on the old brick wall atop the rest of our current exhibits at AdJ. 😎
Not exactly how one would expect the first Saturday in July to flow, but I’ll consider it a good way to start the holiday.
Happy 4th of July weekend flowerworks display. 😎
Like a quick trip to the beach. 😎
The old abalone shells that decorate our yard fascinate me as they weather and patterns emerge. 🧐
Wildflowers and weeds 🧐
Fresh off the drawing board. 😎
