Gastonia EbonyFest Juneteenth Parade and Celebration was a huge hit, despite the sweltering hot weather. Gaston County NC Democratic Party candidates had a great time participating in the parade and meeting voters. Thanks to the organizers for a well-run event! 💙

Enjoyed meeting Mr. Oscar Reid at the Belmont Historical Society’s “A Living History" event this afternoon. Mr. Reid is the grandson of Professor CJB Reid, for whom the Reid School was named. So nice to talk with Anna Young, Patricia Bostic and others about what it was like to grow up in Belmont in the 40s, 50s and 60s. I’m looking forward to joining the Historical Society for future meetings, and continuing to learn about this vibrant community.
