These collages are the experiences of 12 weeks of my life in 1997. They were taken from the pages of my personal journal. The finished collages were meant to be sketches for performances, and even though not all the actions took place, the collages were selected, by an international jury of curators to be part of The National Biennale of Two-dimensional Visual Arts in Mexico City, in 1998. The 12 of them are together, and in good hands now. The collages below are all made on, and with, hand made paper and a combination of acrylic paint, graphite, resins, silver and gold leaf, photographs, and lost & found objects.

When I was eight years old, someone took me to a county fair. There was a side show! An Eagle Woman was standing on a table top, with her giant wings of speckled feathers sprawled across the tablecloth, and her giant talons at eyelevel of small children like me at the time, in front of my face. She was wearing a lot of jewelry, even a tiara, and a lot of makeup too. She was being interviewed with a microphone: - Eagle Woman, Eagle Woman, why did you turn into the Eagle Woman??? - "For disobeying my parentsss" - said the Eagle woman.
