Hey everyone! Long time no update. I've been neglecting this page, and I'm sorry about that.

I just wanted to stop by and let you know that my old pen name, Matthew J. Hellscream, is writing another horror novel...

I'm uploading it chapter by chapter over on Patreon, and the first three chapters are live and free to read for anyone right now. I'm up to chapter 9, and it'll be exclusive to my patrons until it's finished.

The working title is either Dead End or Heavy Metal - I honestly don't know what the title is yet, but these 20 chapters have basically fallen out of me in the last week.

The idea is simple - what if the Bumblebee movie had a lovechild with Stephen King's horror novel Christine?

It's set in 90s Queensland, in the town I grew up in, and I honestly feel like it's the best thing I've written in a long time. I've MISSED writing real horror, you guys.

Even the structure is reminiscent of a King novel. It's broken up into parts, with shorter than normal chapters just flowing one after the other. I've never written anything like this before, but it's just flowing out of me and I need to see where it goes.

Crazy to think, but I might actually be in a position to be able to do Supanova Brisbane in November this year. I'll be vaccinated, and all going swimmingly, Queensland will still be pretty safe.

A long overdue blog update

A long overdue update Hello friends! I just wanted to take the time to give you all a bit of an update on a couple of things. I’ve been a bit quiet for the past six months, and after saying I was going to give everybody…

Y'all might have noticed that Crematoria Online book 2 has gone through a name change.

When I first published it, the title was Legacy of the Bloodreaver - this is the title I worked on it under as I was writing it, but towards the end of the writing/editing cycle I thought that it didn't really fit the content of the book as well as it could have. But I forged ahead and published it anyway.

But now that I've upgraded the covers, I wanted to take the opportunity to change the title to something that I think suits the story better, and sounds cooler: Ashen Legacy.

Those who've read it should understand the reason for the change.

I'm hard at work on book 3, but don't have an ETA at the moment. It doesn't even have a working title at the moment, but the story is the best of the series so far. I know the author HAS to say that, but I truly believe it.

I should have a more detailed update published over on my website soon - I know I've been lax in the monthly updates over the last few months since COVID-19 came to town, but hopefully the next one will be worth the wait
