OUTREACH PROGRAM: Book Giving and Feeding Initiative at Cansinala High School, Apalit, Pampanga

Beta Sigma Upsilon Confraternity "Equitas Sequitur Legem" Inc. embarked on an inspiring journey as they conducted their Book Giving and Food Initiative at the heart of education, Cansinala National High School, located in Barangay Cansinala, Apalit, Pampanga.

Their foremost objective was to nurture young minds and ensure that no child experiences hunger. To achieve this, they donated 600 books to the school. They firmly believe that knowledge is the most powerful catalyst for growth and change, and these books will act as windows to new worlds for the students, inspiring them to dream, learn, and explore.

But their mission extended beyond knowledge; they recognize that an empty stomach can hinder learning. As part of their comprehensive approach to support these bright young minds, they also provided a delicious meal for the Grade 7 students. A full stomach complements a full mind, and they were determined to ensure they had both.

This initiative was a testament to the power of education, community, and the belief that together, they can make a significant impact. With each book, each meal, and each smile, they take a step closer to a brighter, more educated, and well-nourished future for these students.

Huge thanks to their partners, Hiraya Manawari, St. Jude Catholic School, and Principal Ismael Nuqi of Cansinala National High School.

"Mga kapatid, you are very close in achieving success that every law student is dreaming of. Malapit nang dumating ang araw na makikita na namin kayo na nagsasalita sa harapan at kinukwento ang istorya ng isang tao na nangarap, nasaktan, nasugatan pero hindi sumuko sa laban.

Sa nalalapit na bar examinations, nawa baunin ninyo ang lahat ng kaalaman at karunungan na ilang taon ninyong pinag-aralan, pinaghirapan, at iniyakan. Mapapagod, masasaktan, at mahihirapan, subalit wag ninyo sanang susukuan. Lumaban ng buong puso at tapang.

Do it for your name, do it for your family, and do it for justice, and most especially, do it for God!

"They said that our journey to become a lawyer always starts on our first day in law school. Technically, yes. But for me, it all started on the day I was born. Life challenges made me tough, which helped me survive law school and the Bar exam. Just like me, I know that you also have struggles that you can turn into inspirations and life experiences that you can turn into strengths.

Always remember that you must focus on the things you can control rather than the things you cannot. You can control your actions, confidence, mindset, and how you will react and conduct yourself on the day of the Bar exams. Do not focus on the things that you have no control such as the possible questions that you are overthinking, if you can answer them during the exam, or on how the examiners will check or appreciate your answers. It will just make you lose your focus and rattle you on the Bar day.

You can no longer do anything about the topics you missed or failed to cover. You cannot do anything about how you studied in law school before. On the first day of the Bar exam, it does not matter anymore. What matters is that you now have the opportunity to finally become a lawyer. You should be relaxed and excited on the day of the Bar. Your only adversity on the Bar exam is just yourself and your doubts. Focus on one question at a time! Take it easy, pray, breathe, and relax! Do not overthink. Keep in your mind that if you want to pass, you should also be ready to fail as well. To quote Theodore Roosevelt, “Nothing worth having comes easy.”

You are already in the final stage, and you will only reach this far if you are equipped to hurdle the Bar and become a lawyer. It is just a matter of time. Whatever happens after the Bar, be proud of yourself because you know you tried it and fought for it. Days from now, it will be over.

Whatever you think about your performance, remember that you should never regret what you did but regret what you never did. Do not regret on taking the risk and opportunity to face the Bar regardless of whether you think you are ready or not. What is important is that you tried and put up a fight!

"As you reach the pinnacle of all your preparation future pañeros and pañeras, a first-year Juris Doctor student is cheering all of you on, aspiring to follow in your footsteps someday.

Being able to survive the gut-wrenching, backbreaking, and nerve-wracking moments in law school is a remarkable feat that anyone who makes it this far should always be proud of.

My journey to become a lawyer is only a few blocks away from the starting line. The very first moment I stepped into the building of BulSU College of Law as a freshman, I reminded myself that I should be walking down with my purpose in mind. My "why" should be my strongest gear that will lead me to victory in this battle. I should always think of the reasons that will lead me to this moment and why I will hold on for so long.

To all Barristas, now that you have already endured all of the setbacks and sacrifices on your law school journey, I, as a frosh, along with your loved ones, couldn’t be more proud of the person you’ve become. May you always remember that every time you endure and adapt to the struggles you’ve crossed on your way this far, you also become a beacon of hope to a frosh like me. You inspire me that someday I will also overcome my fears and self-doubts, just like all of you.

Rest assured that all of your hard work will pay off. Don’t forget to take care of yourself and to always be thankful for the blessings your transcendent Supreme being has given you.
