Recently a sweet lady called me and asked how I got started with this whole thing... Made me think maybe I need to share my story. SO here it goes. So, I did.
June 17, 2009, My mother Ginny Sue Williamson Brooks passed away. My mother was a HUGE influence in every aspect of my life. Needless to say, though we saw it coming, it was a VERY painful event. My mother was known for her sense of humor and to awesomely delicious food. Baking was something I always saw her doing, and often I assisted her. More so toward the end when she couldn't see anymore. Aft
er she was gone I needed something to tie me back to her, so I broke out many of her old recipes and I started baking. Pound Cakes mostly. Then breads, pies, her famous 3 layers cakes, any and everything. I was going BROKE baking stuff and the folks at work were starting to put on weight. :D I decided that I better start selling this stuff so that I could continue to bake through her recipes. Then I had some left over batter one day and decided just to drop it in the muffin tin. Then I decided to try my hand at piping the icing. AND NINNY'S WAS BORN..... It was an evolution created from the healing process. God has moved in this business through out the entire process, and I pray that He will continue to bless Ninny's and those who eat my food.
