Lord God king of all kings. giver of life, talents and skills. We thank you for the opportunity of having this Altar Servers Festival 2024, the gathering of the Servers of the Altar in the South Cluster of the Diocese of Malaybalay. We pray for a successful event that we may be able to promote friendship and unity. We also pray Lord God for the safety of all the participants who will participate in this event. Send your angels so that we may be protected from all the potential harm that we may encounter.

We also pray Lord God to the Organizing team that they may be given wisdom, patience and understanding from all things and give them strength and courage throughout the event. This we ask through Christ our Lord Amen.

United by their shared passion for serving the Almighty, the Diocese of Malaybalay 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝑪𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 successfully held its 11𝒕𝒉 𝑺𝒂𝒌𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏 𝑭𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒍 at the 𝑰𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒉 - 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒈.

Approximately 1,200 Altar Servers from Talakag, Manolo, Kisolon, Malaybalay, Valencia, Cabanglasan, and Lantapan participated in the event.

The morning session fortified the festival's spiritual essence with a series of enriching activities. The enthronement was led by 𝑹𝒆𝒗. 𝑭𝒓. 𝑹𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒍 𝑫𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒂, followed by a Eucharistic Mass celebrated by 𝑴𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝑹𝒆𝒗. 𝑵𝒐𝒆𝒍 𝑷𝒆𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒐𝒔𝒂, 𝑫.𝑫., and a spiritual talk delivered by 𝑫𝒐𝒎. 𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒏 𝑷𝒂𝒖𝒍 𝑨𝒍𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒅𝒐 𝑴𝒂. 𝑬. 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒖𝒆𝒍, 𝑶𝑺𝑩.

Before the competitive events in the afternoon, participants enjoyed a 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒐 𝑭𝒊𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒂, fostering unity and camaraderie among the deaneries over a communal lunch.

In the afternoon, the atmosphere shifted into a competitive spirit as participants engaged in various sports and a dance competition. The 𝑲𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒏 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒚 showed dominance in 𝑴𝒆𝒏'𝒔 𝑩𝒂𝒔𝒌𝒆𝒕𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍 competition to emerge as champions. 𝑻𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒈 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒚 claimed victory in the 𝑴𝒊𝒙𝒆𝒅 𝑫𝒐𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑩𝒂𝒅𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐𝒏 competition. 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒏 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒚 won the 𝒎𝒆𝒏'𝒔 𝑪𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒐𝒓𝒚, while 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐's participant triumphed in the 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏'𝒔 𝑪𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒐𝒓𝒚. 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒚 also won the 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏'𝒔 𝑽𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒚𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕. The 𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒂 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒚 was crowned champions of the 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏.

Despite their best efforts to outlast their competitors and determine the mightiest deanery, the event concluded on a high note. A spirit of camaraderie prevailed among the seven participating deaneries, with sportsmanship placed at the forefront. The intense competition was left on the courts and venues, embodying the true spirit of an altar server.

Following this success is the gratitude expressed to all who contributed to achieve the conclusion of the festival. Thank you to all the Diocesan Organizing Team, Local Organizing Team of Kisolon Deanery, and the host parish of this festival, Immaculate Conception Parish - Impasugong. This event wouldn't be realized without your dedication and support in ensuring that all things are in place.

With the North Deanery cluster successfully concluding the festival, anticipation builds for the next celebration—𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒗𝒊𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚.

Embodying this year's theme, "𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: 𝑨 𝑪𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆," thousands of sacristans from the Diocese of Malaybalay have gathered to host this significant event. This one-day celebration is dedicated to fostering unity among the sacristans, uniting them as a family of Altar Servers with a shared passion for serving the Lord.

Altar Servers from all 𝒔𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝑪𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔—Talakag, Manolo, Kisolon, Malaybalay, Valencia, Cabanglasan, and Lantapan—are participating. The event also features a Eucharistic Mass, underscoring the spiritual essence of the festival.

With the day just beginning, there is still much to anticipate as the festivities continue to unfold. ✨

Pentecost Sunday plays a significant part in Catholic Faith for the reason that it remarks the birth of the Church because it was on this day that when the Disciples of Jesus Christ received the Holy Spirit, they began to preach the Gospel throughout the world.

The gospel tells us how terrified the disciples of Jesus were that they even locked their doors and hid themselves behind their walls because of their fear that the Jews would come to arrest them and persecute them just like the suffering of Jesus Christ faced, in which He have overcome.

We are all having different fears in our life. Oftentimes, such fears can keep our walls high and feeds our cowardness. But our fears are nothing compared to the mighty name and power of our LORD. His grace can save us from drowning in our own fears, we have to accept Him just as how His disciples accepted the Holy Spirit and our hearts shall be filled with the fire to serve.

The mission of Jesus Christs' followers in spreading the Gospel can be a reflection unto us that we, as an Altar Server have the mission to be an instrument in bringing more youth closer to God and to His church. Fear not, for just as how Jesus Christ appears in His disciples, then He shall always dwell with us for He will never forsake us. May the Holy Spirit guide us in serving and strive more for what is upright in the sight of the LORD.

Inspired by the verse Colossians 3:17, "Devotion in Action: A Celebration of Commitment and Service" captures the spirit of giving oneself all to a cause bigger than oneself. Whether in religious rituals, community events, or private spiritual practices, this topic honors the deep dedication and service shown by individuals who serve at the altar. It emphasizes the influence of selfless service on both individuals and communities, highlighting the transformational potential of putting devotion into action. This theme encourages Servers of the Altar to consider the beauty and significance of expressing devotion through service, from modest acts of kindness to persistent commitment to spiritual practice. It also serves as an inspiration for others to join in the celebration of compassion, dedication, and love.

The Logo consists of the following figures:

The Cross symbolizes Christ the center of Devotion of the Altar Servers. It portrays our crosses which we commit to carry as we go through our journey in service.

The Dove depicts the Holy Spirit that keeps the fire of service of every Altar Server ablaze. It guides us as we continue carrying our cross of service.

The Blood and Water Symbolizes Christ’s Merciful and Redeeming Love, that replenished and washed away our sins. That despite our unworthiness in service, God will always choose us to serve Him.

The Spear symbolizes our trials in service. It breaks us through our service, it breaks us through temptations and trials, yet despite that, we are eager to face the spears in our Lives instead of running away from them.

The Man represents us Altar Servers, committed to carry the crosses of our Lives, devoted to bear the Spears of our service, yet, are guided by the Holy Spirit, Satisfied by the Blood and Water of Christ and are ignited by our Loyalty and Devotion to Christ in the Eucharist.

The Blue Shade Color symbolizes Mary, our Mother who journeys with us in our Service, the first to put Her Devotion to Christ, our Model of True and Unconditional Service.
