The Euphotic zone is the uppermost layer of a body of water that receives sunlight, allowing phytoplankton to perform photosynthesis. It undergoes a series of physical, chemical, and biological processes that supply nutrients into the upper water column

‘Completely’ synthetic polymer, vinyl emulsion and gouache on linen. The last work from my ‘air chrysalis’ solo show.
This work encapsulates the final convergence into nature. Each painting from ‘air chrysalis’ depicted a stage in progression from curiosity into understanding the natural world. For me this painting was the perfect symbol for giving yourself over to the feeling of being alive and outdoors. Trusting the natural rhythm of life and allowing the power to be given back.

It was fun trying to maximise the sense of light and depth with the least amount of detail. Something I wish to constantly aim for, an image that encapsulates an atmosphere before or else.

I had an absolute blast painting this forest. I’d like to thank for her beautiful indigenous shapes and patterns amongst the landscape. Also to for organising the job.

‘Surging’ 610mmx510mm Synthetic Polymer, Vinyl Emulsion and Gouache on Linen. The poster child from my solo ‘Air Chrysalis’

This particular painting ended up being the favourite out of the collection, it was heart breaking to inform my buyers that there was only one to sell!

I felt it really encapsulated the atmosphere I was trying to convey with each work. the colours aren’t actually that bright but instead lean towards more dull hues. Once the colours had all been put in place did the painting start to sing with an illusion of vibrancy. Such a fun experiment.

The painting was inspired by Bush Rangers bay and it’s surrounding pockets.

This work draws inspiration from a quiet spot in Belgrave at the Bird Reserve. Situated deep in a valley among a song of native birds and Grey gums I imagined what it was like to be bathed by the sun with close friends, simply enjoying the things that makes us happy in life.

This work draws inspiration from the Royal Botanic Garden in Melbourne. There’s a secret spot that I visit in Autumn where the leaves layer into the pools of shallow water. The still and quietness of the grove in such a busy area it’s and artwork in itself.

This work draws from rocky tops at Lerderderg national park, the figure’s share an experience of being up so high they almost touch the sky.

This work draws inspiration from the Dandenong’s, there’s a gorgeous region called emerald. I went strolling through the forest at mid day getting lost in deep lush forest.

This work draws from Bush Rangers Bay in blue hour. Collecting wood from the sea for no reason other than the pleasure of feeling the texture and grasping the present.

This work draws inspiration from the wind carved rocks atop the Grampians mountains. The sun finds it way to the settled hiker, creating an equilibrium of light.

Awesome experience working for in Ferntree Gully right next to the train station.
This mural is very personal to me, my partner is 6 months pregnant and I wanted to make a work that focused on exploring the beauties of nature with my mini me.
Can’t wait for what the future holds!
