Once a week group runs start Wednesday, July 10 @ 7pm and continue through July 31. Location each week will be posted here on Facebook the Monday prior to the run.

Please pass along to anyone interested in cross country this fall on our Club team (1-5 grade); junior high team (6-8 grade); and high school team (9-12 grade).

It's more fun to run in a group but these are not mandatory.

Parents are welcome to run with us and get their workout in!

Also feel free to call or text 208-351-4717, Jodi Bragassa, with questions.

A shout out to these runners who took on the Dizzy Horse Backyard Ultra held at Sandy Downs and started on Friday at 10am. I included name, # of laps, and total mileage completed.

Coach Pat Bragassa (Ririe) - 18, 75.006 miles (4th overall)
Saige Ballock-Dixon (IF) - 8, 33.336 miles
Coach Jodi Bragassa (Ririe) - 5, 20.835 miles
Coach Jeremy Smith (Grace XC) - still going, has completed 27 laps, 125.01 miles and wants to be the last one standing.
Rhonda Brown (Ririe) - 8, 33.336 miles
Cris Walters (Rexburg) - 14, 58.338 miles (last female runner)
Mathew Davis (Rigby) - 12, 50.004 miles

There was one more guy from Ririe I ran with part of a lap but I forgot his name after the long night. I think it was Nathan Ralston, so if anyone knows him, let me know and I can update this post.

Big shoutout to 3 boys from the Shelley X-C team. They had an awesome support group of parents, family members, friends, and teammates and coach.. They stuck together and finished 13 laps and 54.171 miles. They were truly inspirational. One parent brought a recliner for their son to sit in so his crew could change socks, shoes, etc., in style. They plan to have more runners next year, so cool!

2023 Club Championships were awesome! We definitely have to race more. The atmosphere is so cool and inspiring to see runners in their 80s on the start line. Your back bib says your age group so you know who your racing. It was definitely warm and humid here but the course is incredible.

Think about it for next year!

The closure of our x-c season ended with a huge celebration of our runners. We had a fantastic year with lots to celebrate! Our girls team were 1st at Bob Conley, Bob Firman, and Tiger Grizz meets, District Champs, and 2nd at state. Our boys team battled injury and sickness for 2nd at District and 10th place at state.

All in all we had 75 fun and amazing kids come out this year to run on our club team (1-5th grade), Junior High, and High School teams - just AWESOME!

A sincere appreciation goes out to all our runners and families that supported our program this year. It would not have been as successful without YOU!

Another big thank you goes out to Head Coach Erik Dodd for supporting the program for 17 years. He is passing on the torch and getting a well deserved rest. To coach is to touch a life forever - so thank you Coach Dodd.

Until next season - Pat and Jodi Bragassa

Very well said!

Coach Jodi

What if we lived life like we were all in a cross country meet?

What if we watched other people and recognized that we're all just trying to get across the finish line?

What if we understood that some people are running as hard as they can but battling illnesses, invisible injuries, and internal struggles? Every step is hard, but they're trying not to quit.

What if we cheered for everyone even if they weren't on our team?

What if we realized just finishing something, no matter how long it took us or how messy it seemed, was enough? In fact, it was a win.

What if we used every race as an opportunity to learn more about ourselves and how we could use each other for support, inspiration, and help to reach our goals?

What if we cheered loud for the winner, but even louder for the one who comes in after because they accomplished something great, too?

In a world that tells us it's about me, me, me, what if we started living to support everyone brave enough to be in the race?

What if we started treating our lives like we were all in the same cross country meet?

What a beautiful world that would be.

THANK YOU X-C community for supporting our 1-5th grade club team! A special thanks to Brennan and Angela Reed for donating to help with our cool medals, the kids loved them!

More thanks to high school runners and parents for helping at finish line, course monitoring, and clean up.

One last big thank you to Coach Pat for doing the timing...it is one of the most important parts.
