Mr. James "Pop" Kiser, age 74, passed on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 at Genesis Healthcare. Services: Services will be held on Sat., Feb 9, 2019 at Southern City Tabernacle AME Zion Church, visitation at 1:00 pm and Funeral at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The Lakeview High School located at 1201 Batchelor St exited from 1925 to 1968 as an all-black high school in West Columbia prior to the desegregation of public schools in South Carolina. Students from cities, towns and communities such as Cayce, Dixianna, Slab Town, Old Field, and others attended and graduated fromLakeview High School.
