On 28th May, International Menstrual Hygiene Day, Team Samvedna collaborated with Rituja NGO to celebrate Masik Mahotsav in an underprivileged area of Surat. This event aimed to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene among women and girls, a topic often neglected in these communities.

The highlight of the event was a Nukad Natak, performed by young boys and girls, which creatively and effectively conveyed essential education and awareness about menstrual hygiene. The performance was well-received and served as a powerful medium to break the silence and stigma surrounding menstruation.

In addition to the educational segment, we distributed sustainable pads to the women of the village. These pads, which can be used for up to five years, not only provide a cost-effective solution but also contribute to environmental sustainability.

To add to the day's joy, we distributed snacks to the children, thanks to the efforts of our dedicated volunteer, Abhishek.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Rituja NGO, particularly Nehal Ma’am and Dr. Ami Yagnik, for their invaluable guidance and support in making this event a success. Their commitment to empowering women through education and resources is truly commendable.
