We had so much fun making the video to the title track of our album, `Running through Chelsea.` We decided to be totally authentic and actually run through Chelsea...! So i got the train up from darkest Wiltshire and Mark spirited himself down from the smoky midlands. Looking Glass Alice simply appeared as if some Sixties mystic had rubbed his shiny lamp and transported them to the shores of our ancient river Thames. For there we all were, just a few joss tick lengths away from Cheyne Walk...where my missus worked in 1967 and Jagger now resides when he pops back from his global travels.

I donned my Victorian frock coat...last seen on the cover of `From Home To Home` and previously in a fairy tale forest on the cover of `Faintly Blowing.` Mark threw a weighty and rather dapper policeman`s cloak (!) over his youthful shoulders. Looking Glass Alice, of course, simply stood there shimmering in their glorious and glowing paisley-rich garb.

With the perpetually brown Thames lapping at the unmoved embankment to our right and with Jagger probably glaring from his expensive w8indows to our left..."What are those lunatics playing at...!?"....we proceeded to prance about on the grass absorbing the pungent and considerable noxious fumes from the continuous stream of cars, buses and lorries and the heckles from the startled -- and foul-mouthed -- drivers who were working while we played like hippy throwbacks.

We later decamped to the actual back streets of Chelsea...beautiful in their white stucco simplicity and classic style. Now we began running. This way and that way, hair and frocks blowing in the breeze. Blimey, we really were having far too much fun.

A few more shots back within earshot of Big Dave in his white van who let us know his feelings in medieval English. Then suddenly Looking Glass Alice had disappeared down a rabbit hole. Mark went off to arrest a few loud-mouths and I hopped back on my expensive train back to bucolic obscurity...

But here`s the proof that it wasn`t just a dream......

Great to catch up with bandmate, Dan Bridgman to discuss progress...ha ha ha....on the forthcoming...ha ha ha....Kaleidoscope and Fairfield Parlour box set. If we live to see it I will post a photo of us opening it....fingers crossed.

CTW was one of England`s finest singer songwriters. His life was tragically cut short by MS. But his music lives on for those of us who love his songs and will keep his name alive for new listeners to discover.

`The best is yet to come` is among CTW`s greatest songs. Recognised by the high profile artists that have covered it: Justin Hayward and Judy Collins to name just two. But those listed did not stray from Clifford`s very moving arrangement. But I wanted to approach it differently. My own arrangement will not please many of those who only want to hear a note for note reproduction on the original recording. But I like to go my own way...

I was fortunate to meet Clifford at one of the annual conventions and to read my appreciation of his work. Sadly he was already very ill but we did get to talk. A much cherished memory for me of a gentle man who poured out his heart in that distinctive yearning voice in so many beautiful songs.
