From the Nourish DC Collaborative: The Keeping It Cool Grant Program will provide grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 to support cold storage infrastructure and equipment needs of food businesses and nonprofit organizations providing food-related goods and services in the Washington, D.C. region. Eligible locations include Arlington, VA; Alexandria, VA; Fairfax County, VA; Montgomery County, MD; Prince George's County, MD; and Washington, D.C. The primary uses of this grant include investments in cold storage equipment, refrigeration infrastructure, and innovative cooling solutions. The grant will be open from March 6th-March 31st. Celebrating through food and education. Strawberry Soda recipe for kids or anyone:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup chopped strawberries
sparkling water and ice

Dissolve sugar in water in a pan over medium heat until gently simmering. Add strawberries and cook 5 minutes, stirring the syrup sometimes.

Allow syrup to cool to room temperature. Puree with until smooth with a blender or leave as is for a chunky syrup

To serve, 2 Tablespoons of strawberry syrup 4 oz sparkling water to taste. Top with ice and garnish with mint. Serves 8 kids
