It’s not everyday that you have the opportunity to celebrate and make music for friends of your late-grandparents. ♥️🥹

What an honor to play for Mike Gavin’s birthday this week, and to catch up with his lovely wife Carol Shuttleworth. I went expecting to enjoy a celebratory evening of music & people at one of my favorite places in town, and left with happy tears and personal stories of my great-grandmother that I never had the privilege to meet. Carol and my late-great grandmother were both pilots (and close friends) and I learned that my late-great grandfather Frank Pyle Sr. was Carol’s first passenger when she earned her pilot’s license. Wow, just wow!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻

So grateful this week for people, music, and life. I love having the privilege of hearing everyone’s stories at these beautiful events and watching how music brings people together………even close friends of my late-family years later!! 🙏🏻

I wish I could find the words to explain how fun it is to make music with these guys………thank you for being such incredible humans, brilliant musicians, and stand-up husbands & fathers. I’m grateful to call you friends, and happy that I get to do just a little bit of life with you and so many other wonderful musicians in Fort Wayne. I love watching you all play and connect, love watching you win in your other bands, and love that we all have a place to belong together with music. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Watching the events get better and better each year has been one of my favorite things about working with Fort Wayne Country Club………with my very favorite being the amazing staff that we have the privilege to enjoy collaborating with on every occasion!! 🫶🏻

The events were actually one of the big selling points too when it came time to pick a local club to join. Love everything about this place, and and I thoroughly enjoyed playing the wine-dinner last weekend. Thank you Zack, Sam, Megan, Pat, Wendy, and FWCC for absolutely everything. ♥️♥️

Lunch on the Square was everything last week……….what a great way to kickoff the Summer season. We love you Downtown Fort Wayne, and thank you for all you do for our community and for local music. Rio and Ellise, I’m so proud of you both for sitting in and for being the rockstars that you are!! 💖💖
